Can you get a MEWP to it? I’d suggest getting as much of the ivy off as possible and a 90ft MEWP would certainly give you access to most of that. No need to climb if your clients are happy to pay.

I would say pop some hedge trimmers a claw hammer a 150 and a set of headphones in in toe arsenal and go to town. It looks like a absolute nightmare job and by the time your done you’ll be having nightmares for weeks. But works work and if you don’t have to climb through that crap then that will take most the swearing out of the job.

And a good dust mask

No ones mentioned a radio..   put radio four on and quietly go to work on the ivy..   a slow methodical job with the radio blasting in the background...   cup of tea ever hr or so...

How sharp would the radio have to be Vesp ?  Would you then lever it off with the cup of tea ?

It wouldn't be sharp, it would be on...   nothing like some background noise when doin a boring arse job..

Not to mention I think all the tools needed were covered earlier..   no point spamming the thread on tools covered, time to move onto secondary equipment.   radio or talking book for company..

I have to carry an Adrenalin pen thingy because a bee sting can kill me, so yeah, fuck ‘em.

Same, but I don't.

I topped a hollow ash out last year, stem full of bees. They didn't sting me.

I like to think we have a mutual respectful relationship.

Good luck with that.

I got anaphylaxic shock once when I got stung by a hornet. The doctor tried giving me an epi pen but it would make me unable to continue to previous job so I never went back.

I've not been stung since by anything, so not sure where I stand!

All jokes aside, get to a doctor this winter, find out your situation.

You could be dead in minutes through your stubbornness. It happens to loads of people every year.
