Cutting high hedges

I would like to advice from experienced grounds maintenance or arborists. What is the safest way to cut a high hedge. At present my client is using an A-frame ladder, which I am unhappy with as the ladder is used side ways on, and no three point contact when using petrol hedge trimmers. They do use long reach trimmers, but they don't have enough, so I have suggested buying more, so the operatives are not tempted to use the ladder; this is ok for the sides but cutting the top correctly needs them to work at height. I have considered tripod platform ladders, standard platform ladders and platforms with hand rail;

My question is what is generally used out their by other companies

It is possible to ‘clip in’ with a lanyard and harness to the top of a tripod ladder so as to form another point of contact. Some of them actually have this built on to them.
A frames ‘side on’ is asking for trouble. Tripods are much more stable.
Like Khris says. Always refer to WAHR.

Tripod ladders are the way forward, have 2 from Niwaki, a 10ft and 15ft.

10ft is the best nice and light so easy to move about and real stable. Adjustable leg aswell for bank work (as has the 15ft)

15ft is a bit heavier and harder to move around tight areas but you can get some unreal hight with it
