How about on a Volvo ec18 with a variable displacement piston pump providing 43 l/min to aux?
You'd get away with it on brambles and light wips but nothing else and forget being able to keep the speed up with very much boom movement,

What LPM does your Bob cat have? Trying to see the difference between yours and the smaller ones.

Size the flail on 50% of the claimed aux flow rate and you will be about right. Seppi and a few others fit variable displacement motors on their heads, these can be trimmed to suit the machine. Any flail or mulcher on  360 is a handy tool no matter what, anything has to be better than a brush cutter.

Forgot to add that there are some skilled operators on here showing what can be done with these things, sticking a head on a machine is step one and it will be a while before a newbie gets the hang of it.

Hi all

Just got my new Robustrack 800mm mulcher fitted on my TB 225.

Perfect match and glad I did not go bigger for stability reasons.

I started of with hammer flail which to out heavy scrub and light bush up to around 40mm it performed well.

I changed over to Y flail for long grass and heavy weeded areas.

Can't fault it.

I cut these sites last year using mostly HD strimmers with blades and polycut. Took us 10 days.

Just finished them in 3 days using my new set up. Also cut much more for my customer and left mulch not blade cut long grass.

Should have bought this year's ago.
