Not sure, I don't run a transit, but some are very cheap. I would argue they should be charging £450+VAT.

Most are not even VAT registered, so can't be charging that or only work part time.

I would agree 100% £450 needs to be taken

My Co employs 3.

I can very much relate to the comments made by employers on here. I just wondered how much experience you had, as you appeared to be disagreeing.

That was bit of banter dave.it would appear it went right over yr head.😂

You employ 3.?.is that you your mrs & your son then.?

We have to average 450+ vat. We can break even at 350+ but that's not a sustainable figure. I employ me and 1 second climber, honest enough eggs?

As for employees, the right person wants to be self employed the average guy wants PAYE. I've been lucky and got a lad who wants PAYE, for now I suspect he will move on at somepoint not too far away. All I can do is delay that with good work, good kit, good pay, training and trying to be a decent bloke to work for.

It's surprising the amount of people who don't understand the legality of self employment when basically just working for one company, employers included.
