Cubic meter of birch is about 3/4 ton, £150 /m3 is about £200 / ton Half the cost as you go down a level of processing: £200 dried and delivered - £100 split - £50 logs at roadside for Firewood quality.

After dealing with a recent theft scare, I decided to install tracking devices on all our equipment, including chippers and trucks. It’s reassuring to know where everything is, especially when you’re running multiple jobs at once. I’ve found it useful even just to locate staff when they’re late to site. For anyone considering it, Phonexa’s tools offer impressive integration with logistics tracking systems.

It’s a fair point. -
How old was the plug? Arbs are known for only changing things after they fail, or not at all, and just buying a new one... If the aspen is more volatile, that would be the difference. Pump fuel usually has different blends for summer and winter to aid starting, and reduce evaporation. I assume aspen/husq do the same but the timing may be different. Could be same mix all year, but that would suprise me. I havent looked into it, Im happy on pump fuel.

I'll get better quality pics tomorrow, including I will probe the roots and the soft rot, see how deep it goes. If you click the image, quality is better, I dont know if you tried that. Or try these https://dcn6x9s7fzj11.cloudfront.net/monthly_2025_04/IMG_20250429_153810.jpg.780508fc63301f711534420eb20c1acf.jpg https://dcn6x9s7fzj11.cloudfront.net/monthly_2025_04/IMG_20250429_153820.jpg.9d5cac16c748e4b9c4ab37c3a009bdb7.jpg

Not bow stave material but an impressive tree I spotted out and about today nonetheless. Looks like it regenerated from the hollow centre at some point, (probably centuries ago!).

It's been 6 months since last newsletter - that has got to change! News - we are revamping the CSB website and we should be able to re launch the new version around Feb/March 2025. Now to around July 2025 and when it does launch it will be alongside the existing one... still lots to do and it's about as interesting making a website as it is doing newsletters! The end result will be very slick! We have loads of stock to clear but it's tricky knowing the best way of doing it with so many chains - as a starter we need to sell all the .325 .043[1.1mm] chains that are guarded to make way for the unguarded version which will be unique to us. Buy 1 and get 2 free - yep makes them pretty much disposable find them here. Use voucher code 325 in the basket and it should take off 66% of the price on these. These take up so much space so get a bargain - £160+vat off - find them here: Eco-42 42″ Ecomill Eco-8ft-J 8ft 1st Cut System [Comes as x2 joinable 4ft sections] Eco-V Vertical Mill [for bars up to 25″] Eco-AO Eco Oiler FREE WINCH KIT! Take the strain of chainsaw milling with this included winching kit. Use the voucher code KIT in the basket. How about a 25" Bar - x8 chains, drive rim, spare nose all for £98+vat? Reason I don't think we'll continue with the Panther 050 concept in the 3/8 bars - these bars run 3/8 .050 chain. Find this offer here - This will fit: STIHL 029, MS290, 034, MS340, MS341, 036, MS360, MS361, MS362, 038, MS380, MS381, 039, MS390, MS391, 041, 044, MS440, MS441, 045, MS450, MS451, 046, MS460, MS461, 048, 065, MS650, MS651, 064, MS640, MS641, 066, MS660, MS661, MS500i HUSQVARNA [FITS WITH GB912 ADAPTER CLICK HERE] 61, 64, 65, 66, 70, 77, 160, 162, 163, 180, 181, 185, 260, 263, 266, 268, 272, 280, 281, 285, 288, 298, 365, 365XP, 371, 372XP, 380, 385XP, 390XP, 394XP, 395XP, 562XP, 575XP, 576XP All the best and thanks for your ongoing custom it is much appreciated. Wiki said. "Equisetum species may have been a common food for herbivorous dinosaurs... Analysis of the scratch marks on hadrosaur teeth is consistent with grazing on hard plants like horsetails." Maybe the meteor was a coincidence [citation needed]

Just read the BBC report from the Tyne region and they aren't doing themselves any favours at all.

The arborist report has a sketch of where tree root was found and then a sketch where damage is located. The root sample was taken no where near the damage site. Why did they not take it from the area of damage? Also the damage site on sketch doesn't even exist as I have a photo of that part of patio and there isn't any damage to it. Why is the Arborist doing this, could it be seen as fraud?

We bought our house this past fall . So we only saw leaves on the trees briefly. This is one the biggest oaks on the property and is just starting to bloom. I do have concerns of the things in the pictures below. We are located in Eastern Connecticut and oak wilt and Kretzschmaria deusta are prevalent. I'm just having a hard time telling why the tree looks the way it does. The canopy looked quite healthy last fall. The last image shows a hole that had grass in it that I cleared out.
