  4. Whe the nuts are slackened a tiny bit, is the bar lifting up away from the saw, if somethings bent so its not sitting correctly until fully tightened, that will do it. With saw on its side, slacken nuts, adjust tension, press down on the tip of bar, whilst somone holds the saw and see if tension changes.
  5. Interesting stuff, fan wheels exploding could be dangerous. The serial number range implies there could be a lot of units affected!
  6. Loose your phone and its a life stop. Steve Jobs, you've got to hand it to him, he saw/created the future.
  7. Looking at the vids and pics It looks like the zigzag bit is way chunkier than a Petzl zigzag.
  8. Ask logs and saws, he does Husqvarna saws. https://logsandsaws.co.uk/

  10. hi all, it's been a long time since i posted on here but my old computer would not talk to some websites. i am in need of 140x140mm beech beams with no spalting or woodworm (normal red colouring of the heartwood is fine) and i'd like the ends sealed with a coat pf neat PVA please. 2.4m and longer are what i'd like and i'm not worried about knots or the odd bit of bark. if possible i'd like trees 80cm+ diameter. if anyone thinks they can help then please get in touch, the number is on the website. 11. As above that book is rated I don't have it but it is worth a read. I assume you want to prune the tree to be a more appealing shape... though my ugly apple tree gives a good crop, the apples will taste the same whichever way. - Use sharp clean tools for the job, secateurs will be OK I reckon... sharp ones. - I tend to think about any cuts so that any water will run off (i.e. not horizontal) - The most you can really cut off a fruit tree any year is about 30%... about 1/3 though the next year it will grow a lot of new shoots to compensate. 10% to 20% off is better to prune for its shape - First cuts - look for any dead branches and remove them - Then remove any branches that cross each other touching (only need to do one of them) bearing in mind the shape you want for what you remove - Then look at the tree, you want a reasonably open structure inside it - airflow and light. Any branches that cross from one side to the other consider if you want to keep them - However you should be able to order the book from a library to read (for the youth... Library, a kind of store full of books you can borrow... Book... like a PDF but IRL...). Books are better - you can take them out to the tree with you and refer to it as you go
  12. It's made in the UK, that's about the extent of my knowledge tbh as my climbing days are well over. I only ever used prussik loops then swapped to a hitch climber and then the zigzag which I thought was a game changer. It will be interesting to see how well it works with SRT and how differently it works either on its own or used with a tether. I don't get the removal swivel bit as I thought that it could be used with or without the swivel but it doesn't look like it can't. Has anyone had any hands on experience with it?
  13. Capital assest value for amenity trees That sounds like the thing your after. Depends how big your talking for replacements.. tree spades and big trees are expensive. You'd have to work out the coating yourself there would be many variables.
  14. Quentin Wilson - Top (bloke) Gear Quentin Willson: Former Top Gear and Fifth Gear presenter dies aged 68 WWW.BBC.COM The presenter and campaigner was described by his family as a "true national treasure" and "true consumer champion".
  15. Yes a reboil, but only for 30 mins or so, plus a bit more sugar and lemon juice. The dark colour is probably a consequence of me cooking it so long. Also, I had a few Quinces mixed in with the Meddlars. It's tastes nice, that's the main thing.

  23. I know of a young chap (15-16 yrs of age) who is looking for work experience (perhaps even apprenticeship, if it all works out) near Aberystwyth. He is very keen on the outdoors and chainsaws in particular & he is on some sort of spectrum/ mildly neurodivergent as they call it nowadays I am based miles away in the SW but I wonder if anyone here could help. Many thanks.
  24. Hi, how many hours does the new engine and clutch have on them? Is this something these machines are prone to having issues with?
  25. Hello How much are you selling it for? Does it come with the expansion POD? What is the accuracy without the GNSS Expansion POD? What makes your older device superior in your opinion? Cheers
