  4. No dude, no idea. Related or not, it doesn't make it OK. All I know is what I've seen in that news report. Yer man James Garvey probably knows all the fine details of the incident, tap him up. Luckily all those locals stepped in to help the girl and then apprend the wrong 'uns. The power of community spirit.

  6. Morning, drizzle here. Day off the tools today, looking at jobs and a wee nice lunch in between with the good lady.
  7. Tree service companies can win more clients by using call tracking analytics to see which ads or directories bring in the most calls. Combining that with a lead management system keeps inquiries organized and follow-ups faster. It’s especially handy for pay-per-call or local ad campaigns. Has anyone tried tracking calls from Google Ads or Facebook leads yet?

  10. Yeah, that pricing gap and fuel economy sound way off. A diesel giving only 10.6 mpg doesn’t make sense unless it’s an old or high-performance model. Maybe double-check if those are US mpg instead of UK mpg, or if it’s showing urban cycle figures rather than the combined rating.

  12. Yeah, I first heard this When Humble pie covered it in 1971, then I heard Ashford and Simpsons original '66 version then Ray Charles, then John Scofield, and most recently ish John Mayer which finally 50 years later I decided that I had to try to learn the dam thing, which isn't coming that easy☺️ Google Search WWW.GOOGLE.COM

  15. My mate is keen carp fisherman and had the pleasure to meet Mr Gibbinson. This is him with a chunk from Semtex Lake in Wales. I'm into sea fishing and mostly target bass with lures.
  16. Moisture in the wood and surrounding soil makes it difficult because until you can get the wood up to about 300C it won't pyrolyse. Moisture holds the temperature down to 100C. So if the mass of wood and soil conducts the heat away from the fire faster than the fire heats the wood it won't work. My device was a 12 by 38" tractor wheel with a cast iron hub in the middle. An exhaust pipe slid inside the hub onto a chainsaw bored hole into the stump. We tried it on the stump of a dead pine we had felled in a garden of a posh new 4 bedroom house. A very old vacuum cleaner blew air down into the hole where the fire was lit. A car wheel with a 5' flue pipe welded to its centre was placed over the exhaust pipe so the exhaust from the fire was via the flue pipe, this pre heated the combustion air. The fire burned through the middle of the stump til it reached the sandy soil underneath the stump. It worked but as it took many hours to get up to temperature and then it became uncontrollable it was deemed far too dangerous. I wrote about it here years ago from memory, it happened around 1980. The house holder was wakened in the early hours by the roar of a jet engine and the bedroom lit by bright orange. A long flame was flaring from the flue pipe until the vacuum cleaner hose melted. Then it subsided and he cut the power. He was a patent agent and immediately lost interest in my invention. The fire was out by the time I arrived in the morning and the laterals had burned out to the edge of the tractor wheel. I tried it once more on a freshly felled oak stump but it hardly got going during a day because the wood was so green, it would have needed a support fuel to get it up to temperature, so that was that and most firms earn extras by stump grinding now.

  19. What about sensors? The 4510 seemed to remember the user before only using half revs , bit like my old stihl ms 241cm - ypu coild tell who had used it and what revs by just picking it up and starting it !
  20. Train to Kilmarnock... should be possible if no car. There are a few members on here who are ex-forces and might be able to drop you a line with any issues adjusting to life in the arb industry.
  21. I think I can tell when fuel lines are getting brittle, with the carb disconnected. I clean the engine then give the lines a poke around under good light. Cracks will open up when moved but also the rubber feels hard not supple. I've always assumed the fuel line will perish first, because its constantly exposed to fuel. So if it shows cracks, I'll replace all the rubber - boots, carb kit etc. I've done this a few times on two strokes and less often on four strokes.
