If the damage is ankle-height it's probably a strimmer injury. Nothing you can do really, try to minimise moisture availability and it could help slow down the rot, might deter some creepy crawlies. How tall is the tree now, and is it close to anything valuable?

Ive just got a muck grab type currently, and the standard bucket. Again, not alot of choice in manufacturers of grabs, and $$$$.

As dumb as it sounds (I’m forestry based) but I’ve struck up conversations with local lower impact forestry squads around my area on Instagram or Facebook and ended up getting work alongside them so there is that approach. Where are you based? Here in Scotland there’s a Whatsapp group for forestry and arborists and there seems to be boys always posting for groundies.

Hey doobin. Do you not think a new pick up after warranty is up will be a massive loss in depreciation? I bought a cheap 2021 new shape D Max (cheap as in 5-7K less than others advertised). It will be out of warranty shortly, and currently on 94K miles. Done 20,000 in it since last August. My first thought was keep it til it’s 5 years old or 125,000 for Isuzu warranty then flog it and buy another but looking at the price of them it’s a big out put just for a motor to get you to work…

The bracing specification should be specified by the surveyor.. Your saying 4t but maybe 8t.. that's for the surveyor to specify along with static or dynamic installation and where in the tree.. A single bracing takes an hour to install by one climber, this does alter a bit depending on the size tree and how easy it is to move between each side of you bracing. Plus travel to and from site, accessing the tree, getting the kit laid out etc all the usuall faff. Much easier with two climbers, and take a bag/bucket you can dangle of your harness to put all the bit in.

Interested to know diagnosis of this common whitebeam in garden. Appears very water stressed with cankers, but not sure if phytophthora. What advice would you give? 25 years old

Doesn’t have to be a hemispherical prism. Could be a geodesic dome for example. What it ****************ing won’t be though is a sweat lodge for womb bathing and breath work ceremonies. I like capitalism, meat and white culture.

Dog watches fly. He got one of his ears pierced yesterday. I was booting a bit of scaffold tube stuck in the ground to loosen it. He was wanting to assist with the extrication by clawing and gnawing at the surrounding sod. Anyway. His ear ended up on top of the tube right as my boot did. Loud squeak, some blood. Straight back at it. Doesn’t give a ****************.

Well if we are here to learn things, does the reconsidered cut after deciding against that first step cut have a name, not even a minute in to the video? V cut? Please outline your reasoning behind using it instead of an inboard step cut in this situation specifically, and suggest three positives, negatives, or otherwise differences between the two for usage in general. Five points available.

Hybrid wood & electric cookers
tommydog replied to Lucan's topic in Log burning stoves and fireplaces
Fast forward to 2025, what options are there available? My research indicates hardly anything: 1) Thornhill 5-Oven Wood Burning Electric Hybrid Range Cooker - Available but very expensive. 2) Rizzoli Combined kitchens - Combines wood as solid fuel with electric but very modern look. Not something that would suit our setting. 3) ESSE 990 Hybrid - out of production 4) There is the Marshall that is referenced here, but I am not sure of the model number? 5) AGA Integrated Modules - these are independent units matching the ascetic look of the main cooker and are designed to bolt directly to the left-hand side of the main cooker. They are pretty expensive and the Integrated Modules new are not available for solid fuel ( current offerings 2, 3, and 4-oven AGA R5 Series models as well as the AGA Dual Control, R7 and eR7 models) but back in the 1990s and 2000s, AGA did make Integrated Modules that could be added to traditional solid fuel AGAs (the coal/wood burning ones). Are there any other options available in UK? I am happy to consider something old from years gone by. Ideally I would like an electric hob with wood burning oven. If nothing is available, I wonder if an existing cooker could be custom adapted? Any ideas? - Yesterday

I often drop them , cant tell how many I've lost. I should get some bright orange paint...
