I'd have thought that those running the climbing comp would have a better understanding on equipment. The 12kN rating is no suprise, a device like this will slip long before it breaks. It may be the only way to break test with a rope is to tie a stopper knot which would jam against the frame of the device - at which point the links are slipping and doing nothing. Or to pull it directly at the top link against the swivel eye without a rope but thats not in any way realistic. These mechanical prussiks are not really covered adequately by the standards - and neither are actual prussik cords - they that go under EN795 Personal anchors and is intended for testing them as PPE slings. The tests have little related to its use as a friction cord. Some details of the Zigzag here... https://m.petzl.com/INT/en/Professional/ZIGZAG-certification?ProductName=ZIGZAG Unsure if ISC have similar details available for the Reflex yet.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe - good to see one of UK's most successful businessman speak out about immigration. I suspect King Charles probably also has similar feelings, but wouldn't dare say anything - this is why the monarchy stinks. It doesn't really matter if the colonists 'win' and outbreed the white honkeys and eventually take over. Khans in every public office. It's all nature - they are like grey squirrels that's what Farrage should say - non white people are like grey squirrels

Another good point in the video, and true from my experience now, the two attachment holes for MRT differ in that one (the closest ) gives optimum slavk tending efficiency, while the second hole is not do good. So, those earlier saying the ZZ just swallows any slack that is intentionally put into their system, this does solve that issue.

Not so sure Steve. There is a guy on one of the yankee forums with a petrol TW280 who is very impressed. Mobark wasted no time getting them rebadged and on the market over there. They must think there’s a market there. Homeowners will be tempted by the Jobeau and Elliet grade machine.

You give me too much credit I think sir. I was struggling after L4, ran out of patience so rushed it and made a mistake on L5. No logic in sight!

Shame (in a sense) you can’t buy Defender kits. Save some labour cost on them. Unless it actually makes it more expensive by being a picking and packing nightmare. I can’t see Amazon leaping to partner with them.

I was involved with the design of an oak framed house on the West coast of Scotland, almost 20 years ago. Largest (new) oak framed project in Scotland at the time apparently. The frame was designed, fabricated and erected by one of the well known English companies who had a yard in Scotland. All the oak came from France and in those days I believe that was quite normal as there was a reliable supply of straight, knot free logs. Not sure if it’s the same now. But I also know of smaller one off projects, fabricated by ‘local’ specialists using local timber and not necessarily oak. So that is a feasible way forwards. Maybe see if there are any people qualified as visual timber graders as they may know the sawmills to go to. Andrew
