  1. Past hour
  2. Sorry to tell you that it’s beautiful again here today! I’ll do some mowing in the field, and tinker in the workshop.
  3. Morning! It still pretty wild here just now, I have only have 1 blown birch to deal, it's in a back garden so I'll deal with that when the weather calms down. Stay safe out there guys!

  9. Morning all. Spring in the step this morning, must've been a good sleep. Wind still blowing here, ended up a long day yesterday blighted by low bridges. Surprising how many you come across that are under the 4m clearance the crane needs, haven't hit any yet. More trees to do today. Have a good one folks. And good luck with the new direction Pete, hope it works out.

  11. I’d be interested in this winch or similar. What oil flow does it require ?
  12. Theres a plug on the wiring from the paddle switches and stop bar limit switch to the stress control box that can become damp and corrode over time. worth checking and cleaning out. happened mine a few years ago.
  13. Yesterday
  14. I used to stomp around to Venetian Snares in early 2000's.
  15. I can almost be bothered to go and take the back off the saw to see how it works. Almost. Tell you what. I'll finish what I'm working on now first and become a chainsaw manufacturer another time shall I.
  16. I forgot the injector didn’t have an airflow butterfly on it. That’s yes, quite critical for a bolt-off, bolt-on swap. Video of a 500i injector for anyone who’s never seen one btw. IMG_5984.mov Now ask me why I have one on my windowsill…

  18. Dunno, but it's a change for the better. It's much more pleasant, you must admit. Enjoy it while it lasts, it'll be business as usual all too soon, back to the sewer. It's almost as if there's a certain element missing. Can you put your finger on it?
  19. Its built a lot differently. Where the carb would be is just a butterfly valve, the injector is below that directly into the crankcase. You cant just bin a carb and bolt on an injector. No sensors on the exhaust, there is one behind the flywheel. It doesn't monitor exhaust gases like a car would from what I can see. There are a few YouTube vids on stripping a 500 down, I did mean to make one but we never have the time and my workshop isn't in the best shape to make decent video watching content to say the least! I cant see there being many other fuel injected chainsaws as all the money is going into battery machines. Although maybe a big 120cc equivalent Husky, I only say that as they dont have one and its been what 4/5 years since the 3120 was axed. Im sure that they could have brought an autotune out in that time.
  20. So were back in business, electrics all sorted and made a few upgrades too. got the little McCulloch sorted, and got a McCuloch Pro Mac 6 and that's now running too. the 350 Husqvarna that I was not particularly impressed with has been rebuilt and I have to say as given some decent reports here has been given a second chance,, I have to say it's a lively little thing, and very light and well balanced. and I picked up an Alpina 70, and there's a Poulan on it's way to me soon. I may have to build more shelves.
  21. any ideas tw230 loads of black smoke wont turn of on key changed pump solenoid no difference thanks all

  23. Thats looks like a decent chunk of metal that caused the problem. So im thinking no to piston ring pins and circlips. I am thinking that part of a main bearing has broken away but if you have pulled the crank seals and ruled that out then all I can think of is a foreign object like a screwdriver to maybe lock the piston to remove the clutch! Or maybe some baffles in the exhaust have broken loose and ended up in the cylinder.
  24. Interesting. What's so different? The injector bolts on and off like a carb. Is there a separate air inlet? Any sensors on the exhaust side?
  25. I will be interesting to see the Husky fuel injected saw, I cant get hold of the parts list to compare it the the 500i. The 500i is built completely different to standard non injected saws and it is more of a PITA to strip down. Ive rebuilt a couple of them and you need to strip them to bits just to replace the piston and cylinder.
