Thanks for asking my opinion. It seems that assimilation is in progress ... resisting it seems to be difficult or maybe even futile. 🙄 I'd go back to 1972 btw.... pre-digital virus, 👍

I agree that we need to learn to harness AI and use it to our own ends. I have been doing just that with the help of a mate who is lecturing architectural students on its potential. I can see a significant increase in workflow by automating things. I do think that all that data in the wrong hands is a recipe for disaster.

Yes, a real branch! Lady there got upset when suggesting I upgraded my phone "but what will you do when we only do apps" - pointed at the different bank opposite "I'll just go do my banking with them"

Bob The Dog started following Hazel binders for hedge laying

Mate of mine has just had his hedge laid and is in need of a load of hazel binders to complete the job. Is anyone aware of a supplier of these in the Herefordshire or surrounding area? The hedge length is 63metres. Many thanks, Bob

Are the plugs the metal or plastic type ?. Might be worth buying the plastic type with the screw type gland, plus use a cable tie on the inside cable as a belt and braces. The wires shouldn't rip out as the outer sleeve of the cable is locked in the back of the connector. I've had some connectors where if you put a cable tie round nice and tight it stops it pulling back, although my current plug is a metal one I found in local ag dealer and that's been good. Also , it helps to put bootlace ferrules on the wires as this stops them breaking individual strands at the corner of the screw clamp. Won't stop the cable pulling back though.

Exactly that mate, some days gardening, others tree waste

You go into a bank? A physical building? I don't think my bank has a branch for 50 miles... So the bank has to be in the phone. And the phone has to be up to a standard dictated by the bank. Funny old world.

Fair play to you. I feel that your days of being able to get away without having a stupid smart phone glued to your nose are numbered though. Life is getting increasingly difficult for anyone without one, based on the current trajectory. I'd be hardline and draw the line at smart phones for children. As in they don't have them. Phone call phones, yes, they could be useful, even a necessity in an emergency. Internet, social media, AI capable pocket computers, no. The harms far outway any goods. Definitely no SMs in school to start with. Schools themselves, or dare I say it, the government should be able to enforce it. Fat chance of any govnt doing anything healthy like that though so it'll have to be decent schools taking the initiative in the first instance. A few have already put in a no phones on site policy, so that's a good start. The headmistress at my son's school is very sensible and progressive on this front. She's strongly pushing the Smartphone Free Childhood campaign. It's one of those things that should follow the snowball effect. Once a critical mass is reached it'll drive itself. Children won't be coerced by peer pressure into getting one. I hope it succeeds.

Yes, one of our GM1928s had the same. Because of some small air leak the fuel drained back into the tank, which effectively meant you had to bleed it each time it had been left for a while. It was under warranty and I think dealer fitted a check valve in the fuel line or pick up to keep the line full..

I'd never heard of them until I heard them get a feature on the radio today. I liked what I heard, proper prog rock, verging on but not straying into sillyness. I can't find a decent length version of that Hamberger Concerto online, all I see is some that's 20 mins and seems to be slow stuff.

Thai Prawn Crackers. In a league above the ones you get free with the Chinese takeaway. They've got a little chilli kick and not overly sweet.

Good evening from the UK. I own a Homelite 340 chainsaw. The year of manufacture is roughly 1998. I'm looking for a new carburetor. There are so many on the internet, but most are from China. I'm not knocking those. But the present carb was made in Ireland. With the name Borg Warner. and has Markel Schefbler Tillotson on it. Does anyone know of such a carb? Or another make that might simply fit on, without any modification of fuel entry, and throttle control, etc. Thanks David

If once started it then starts OK but left a couple of days will not start, you have a small air leak. Check all jubilee clips and give fuel fitter a tighten, or if do for a change, change it. Most of kubota engines in chippers self bleed if you leave ignition switch on for a will, so if above fails to work would fit new pump.

he says his model has a Teiki carb If the machine looks like this it is probably too old for the Chinese to bother copying the carb
