Fancy hidden lock stitching for a low profile eye, perhaps a bad design decision and huge QC failure. Mistakes happen, most climbing companies have had a recall or two. Petzl have had many... Marlow Ropes issues urgent update over stitched splicing in one product WWW.FORESTRYJOURNAL.CO.UK Responding to recent speculation on social media about a possible fault with this, the manufacturer has reiterated that no other ropes in its range… It means the spliced ring I did last week is far from ideal, but I note that DB spliced rings are available to buy with the same rope. Anyway will only use for small stuff. Stein give the same splice rating with the ring and without so perhaps the difference is small.. Hi . ready to give up on Airstreams, my last two pairs have lasted less than a year each in which time I’ve done very little climbing . whats the best alternative? tried Andrew’s , found them comfy but a bit bulky, didn’t really like Scaffel . Whats popular nowadays? thanks.

The vassa in Sweden is supported by pine props , I asked them weight to prop ratio or how many tons each prop supports , Back came this abrupt answer - were trying to work and we dont know ! Vasa is a big ship! -

Well if their recent splicing cock-ups are anything to go by, it's the equivalent of phoning me for sex advice.

New hydraulic fittings fitted Apart from being shiny, they seem to work a lot better than the old ones, though I haven't used them in anger yet. They take up more space, the assembly is considerably longer than the old ones. The result of this is that in certain positions, the hydraulic hoses are on a quite tight angle. I'm guessing this is fine; it'll have to be. Ordered Manuli couplers from LS Engineers, and various adapters and washers from Burnett & Hillman.

Sure. Rigging ropes though. You (probably) wouldn’t be able to poke them through rings. How does it feel having Marlow back up your hunch?

Thanks I'll try that next.

take the head off and clean everything, it should be pretty obvious if the valve isn't seating properly. you could then use lapping compound.

The anchor side of a big ISC or DMM pulley. But yeah, mainly a biner. I doubt anyone’s using these for trees but they exist.
