What this means is you can run 1/4 .043[1.1mm] chains on your 540XP. AND you could also run carving bars - the sprocket will run both 1/4 .043[1.1mm] and 1/4[1.3mm]. Hello, I was wondering if anyone is requiring any tree planters for the upcoming season? I live in Glasgow and can travel to location. I have 15 years experience in horticulture/ forestry. I worked in a tree nursery for 10 years, managed it for seven. I am an experienced planter, anything from hedging to woodland creation. If you read what Mark wrote you will see its not a casting defect but the casing was scored from a thrown chain . He did a quick repair by removing the burr and scoring that was causing the problem . Aside from that , a 395xp is a cracking ( old school now ) saw that is tried and tested . I have one ( Crocky ported ) and have had 2x 394xp as well over the years .

@Mark_Skyland Isn't that a casting defect? How is the "new" part showing? I thought Husqvarna builds quality chainsaws for fcks sake... And I was thinking about a 395xp... Not that the current Makita EA6100 P is doing anything wrong...

A memory that has always stuck with me was that one of the lads in school was absolutely gutted when he found out that wild boys was a Duran Duran song. He's long dead unfortunately , a good lad just a bad upbringing.
