Morning all . Mild at 11c . Going beating today after a 10 year break . Keeper who I used to go with for at least 40 years has moved to a new shoot and has asked me if I would . Its his second season at this new shoot and he is short of a beater today . I asked him if he couldn't find any dead people in the church yard that might have been a better prospect but he settled on me ...🙂

Vertical anvil in its entirety went through my ForstST8, made a funny noise for a bit then clang! and out it came. I think there’s space under the rotor disc, between it and the chamber for it to pass underneath. I would replace both anvils, rotor bearings, and check rotor fans for damage. I think they replaced the old ally fans made of cheese for better ones at some point, may be worth checking with your dealer.

Had a brilliant boss at the changeover point who told all employed to say they'd 'mislaid' their old licences and reapply for new ones, which meant they were updated to new style but with old weight limits carried forward. Did us all a huge favour. Thank you.

If its horizontal anvil that's a lump of metal to go through chipper, would of thought its damage discharge fan. But I can't see how it been thrown out as it's got to get past or through blades.

Waaaay back I dropped an alder for my mates dad and tried to burn out the stump. There was copious amounts of red diesel which was only surpassed by the volume of tears. Some of the old timers I used to work with used to blow stumps out of the ground with dynamite, well I think it was dynamite but it is going back a bit. These were stumps in residential areas!

Reduction is looking good imo.

My horizontal anvil sheared off and spat itself out the chute, is there anything you would recommend replacing while I have it stripped? I was looking to see online where the anvil goes etc but I’m a bit lost. If anyone has done this or has pictures it would be fantastic. This is the current shape I have it sitting in
