  2. Bought a little 6550 valtra to run alongside my T234 and N174. bought it from wilson’s with a little crane trailer as well. fifth tractor i’ve had off wilson’s over the years and fantastic service as ever. perfect little tractor for sneaking into places that are a bit tight for the newer valtras and a handy little thing to have onsite with the mulcher on the back. 4. ...but rusted in front of your eyes as soon as they rolled out the factory. Unlike the Land Rover which used a considerable amount of aluminium in its construction, the Gypsy was all steel.....and thin, cheap steel as well.

  7. Austin gypsy, they look well built, seemingly a lot better than the land rover at the time.

  9. Lovely 4x4 with torsion bar suspension and the engine was part of the MOD plan to standardise spares by having parts in common with bigger engines. It made it all rather expensive compared with the cruder, simpler land rover offering which won out.
  10. All the best for 26 to you and everyone here Eggs but remember it works both ways its best to be nice to people. Mick's one of the few contributor's to posts on current arb practice and I read most of his posts.

  13. Had a Dodge 50 Horsebox. Same 3.9 Turdo Perkins. Unstoppable.......once rolling. In a good way. Every RB I've seen had the same problem. Rust. Lots of it. Mechanically simple but the body dissolved around the engine/chassis. Echo @Oldfeller sentiments. I too have been looking at older stuff. TK's and the such are hens teeth or a kings ransom for a good one. Difficult to justify as a fun / hobby vehicle. But safer than my bike I agree.

  15. Good Morning Happy New Year to all. Seconded Doug's/ Maybe's sentiments. Hoping for a good one.
  16. Morning all, Happy New Year. Looking forward to Monday and return to normality. Ditto Doug’s thoughts regarding another good year of roll call attendance. Keep it going team 👍
  17. HNY Team! Hope you all have a good one! Had a few in the pub and saw it in at home, feel quite fresh for saying that we were up late and had a little to drink! Enjoy you day! Bait, Oaf, Urn.
  18. Happy New Year to all, I have very much enjoyed being a part of this forum.

  22. Morning all. Happy new year to you and here's to another year of good attendance. Have a good one folks.
  23. Well they sell for 8k upwards, the problem is parts are obsolete so that makes things tricky all though not impossible. Small footprint, 4wd, hi and low box, perfect. I would have one if I could get hold of one at the right price but have never spent more than £3600 on any motor in my 20 odd years of driving so unlikely to be dropping £8k on an RB.
  24. same ! 😀
  25. Morning all and a happy 2026 . Frost again .
