Clarity On Hedges That are both Deciduous & Evergreen
daltontrees replied to GordonM's topic in Trees and the Law
That's never going to work. All bits of the 'hedge' are going to affect all 3 properties, not just the bits on their boundary.. There will be a single speciefication that gives all at least the minimum daylighting. Some will exceed it. Property 4 may not wish to lose any more than absolutely necessary. It's inevitable that property 4 has to invite opinions then offer a compromise single solution with or without requirements for contributions. If all agree, good. If just one refuses, do nothing. -
Neither are 023 and 038, which I loved to bits. I never had a 391, but my son did for a short time, and then he swapped it for a Husky. He still borrows my 400 for bigger jobs though. 😁

Clarity On Hedges That are both Deciduous & Evergreen
monkeybusiness replied to GordonM's topic in Trees and the Law
Each affected property should ask property 4 if they would allow the affected property (solely at the affected property’s expense) to cut property 4’s hedge down to their desired specification. There is nothing beneficial in this situation for property 4 - why should they also be encumbered with expense? -

Clarity On Hedges That are both Deciduous & Evergreen
GordonM replied to GordonM's topic in Trees and the Law
Not at all. It has become a bit of a difficult one because the properties don't agree. But for what it's worth I don't think it's fair to ask Property 4 to pay for all of it. My preference would've been for all of us to split it. Though some of the properties dont want to do that. -

Thanks for the response, what vehicle are you using? I'm fairly confident I can make it fit but I don't know anyone near by with a similar size grinder to try out for size I thought tie down points would be the best option, ill enquire with the chaps that did my tipper conversion

UK military 'too stretched' to provide troops under Ukraine peace deal APPLE.NEWS Armed forces may have to be pulled off existing commitments in order to be deployed should Trump manage... Something that I’ve mentioned many many times, the recruitment process “ now privatised” is an absolute joke. The fact we have a recruitment crisis after recently witnessing how the whole process has changed over the years is no surprise at all.

yeah but if you've ever seen them trim their own hedges - they never put a sheet down

It’s a meaningless accusation thrown around by naive fools nowadays. Saying that the howls of indignation if those words had been uttered by me would have been deafening from the usual suspects. In all honesty I don’t overly worry about the opinions of a handful of often anonymous individuals on an internet forum.

Yeah. Quite agree. Plenty of people don't need to be able to recall and recite Henry VIII's wives' names, their times tables or the tax treatment of gingerbread men to be classed as intelligent. But try teaching that sort of thing, or why you put a sheet down before you trim a hedge, or why you wash your hands before surgery, or why you put the load as much as possible over the tyre of the barrow, or why an earthquake happens, or whatever whatever whatever to ten blacks, ten whites, ten brows and ten yellows. A pattern will emerge. For anyone joining the conversation now and wondering why Enoch Powell has joined in, read back a few pages to see the context before calling me a racist. Then call me a racist by all means. I'm not but it'll give Dave a few minutes off.
