  1. Past hour
  2. I couldn’t agree more. If you want to pursue a new career mate don’t let some miserable old blokes on a forum tell you it’s not a good idea. Can you earn more money in a different trade? Sure, but comparing salaries with other trades is pointless. If he wanted to be a bricklayer he wouldn’t be on here. Comparison is the thief of joy. Plenty of people in this industry who are earning great money and they didn’t all start at 18 and work for 20 years before turning a profit. If you want to do it. Do it.
  3. Morning all, Heavy rain forecast here, but not come yet. Might do a small climbing job if it is mild, otherwise clearing a large fallen section of a big old apple tree. Stay safe all.
  4. Good Morning. Stay safe.
  5. Morning Team, still here despite talks of storms up north. I'm having a cleansing sort of day I reckon. Teller, Graf, Cross, Whirred.
  6. Today
  7. He says he gets the same money as when he was teaching . Yesterday was double bubble obviously .
  8. Morning all . A clammy 17c at the moment . I think we , down south will miss the worst of the storm . rain later .
  9. Good Morning Steady here. Have a safe one Doug and all in Floris's path. See you all here tomorrow..

  12. Morning all. Summer storm day for the North. See what it brings, the council's seems to be expecting trouble. Won't be much climbing done today. Have a good one folks.
  13. Those would be facts, you know they don’t go down well with some people’s “ worldview “ or indeed the simple fact that removing said offenders or stopping them actually getting here would reduce that “20” times more likely figure !! Nothing like a bit of Whataboutery if there’s nothing else left. We have plenty of our own home grown shit here to deal with , importing even worse shit and treating them better than we do our own veterans and pensioners is nothing short of madness.
  14. 🤔Not quite sure you or the other member are getting this. I guess 20 times more likely isn’t enough for some. Sore thumbs more likely I’d say Mark.
  15. Britain is long overdue a migrant crime league table - UnHerd UNHERD.COM “Lies, damned lies, and statistics.” It’s the phrase people reach for when the data...
  16. Yesterday
  17. If that's the case then why not just stop males (92% of abusers), and family and friends (80% of abusers) from having any contact with children in their social circles? However it doesn't fit with your worldview.
  18. Lots of them via the CoS across the Highlands and Islands if you feel the need. I missed out on this one (oiro £30k iirc) a few years ago, close to St Andrews so a very viable let.
  19. Love being a log goblin, I clean up after lazy groundies who leave limbs and rounds lying about and enjoy the glow a season or three later, thank you guys, please don't stop being lazy.
  20. I would tell them it's perfectly fine, doesn't need any work whatsoever for all least 15-20 years (adjust that to your expected retirement age) As an added bit of security give them your 'new' phone number for any further concerns.
  21. My first ever tree job was being a groundy on a monkey puzzle fell. Welders gauntlets offer a bit of respite.
  22. Never done one. Never going to. I've seen them up close. That was bad enough.
  23. AHPP

    Chickens?

Some more local chicken consultants concur and also add that hindquarter feathering is another giveaway. Fluffy roundarses for girls. Sharper thighs for boys.
  24. ah i see you have worked with monkey puzzle before!!!
  25. Arbs good and you can make good money if your head is screwed on. A few years of grinding and you'll be fine. 33 is nothing, I switched at 37, give it a punt
