  4. Its a tempting idea but roughly how much of the value of the timber does one lose by doing this? It might be worth doing some of the work one's self or it might be worth sticking to the trade I know while letting someone else do what they know best.
  5. Morning all, Trimming a holly bush then doing a quote. I tried the salt and vinegar method once when I had an ear canal infection. I still had to get seen and had otomize spray. Works well, but is prescription only. Have a good weekend.

  7. Sore ears on dogs can usually be sorted with a diluted mix of white spirit vinegar. 3 water to 1 vinegar, put in ear, squidge the ear for a while let the dog shake the liquid out.

  11. Hello all, from suspect bot. Steven P, you correct in your observation of Road, Kerb, Garden. The so called kerb area is part of my garden. I decided to move the fence area back, thus missing out on the awkward situation of having to fence around the tree. In a normal situation, I would have used the tree trunk as part of the anchorage system to attach the fence to the tree as a sort of living fence post. However, given that the tree in the photo has a TPO on it, I couldn’t do that. My question is simply that for the first time I have noticed that this fungus has appeared and I am asking the advice of all of you on this forum of what you would do in my situation, especially given that the council is involved in any debate regarding the the possible felling of this tree. They are not happy with the thought of me felling the tree because of any comeback from the people who placed the TPO on it in the first place. However if the tree is diseased, showing following distress eg. Branch die back, premature fallen shrunken curled brown and yellow leaves, branches falling that snap easy, termites everywhere, tar spot to mention a few things and now dryads saddle appears. Well what do you Think?

  14. How I fell for jailed amputee surgeon Neil Hopper's sepsis lie BBC.COM Neil Hopper told me losing his legs had made him rethink his life - but all was not as it seemed. What an extraordinary story.

  26. @Welshfred Excellent book! Thanks for the recommendation.
  27. I agree but not with the idiot part, as I would be an idiot with the scars to prove it! Its more to do with home owners having accidents cutting up firewood that caused the issue IIRC and yes they did lump all the accidents together hence the requirement to ask for certs. A customer came in yesterday with one, I wasnt around but he was asking if we could get replacement bars and chains. He said they were selling like hot cakes and it was all the old dears diving in to get one. Hopefully there wont be another HSE or whichever body tried to ban the sales investigation in 6 months time.
