  3. Hi, yep I don't make any claims to know much about this tech but I'll also be interested to know if the battery can be boosted enough to be charged. I also wandered if even just putting it somewhere warm would help. There's really nothing to be lost in trying to boost a duff battery but I know I wouldn't risk damaging a new battery. Just last week I had my AP300 battery charging through a watt meter as I'm building up a list of what all my appliances use in order to get a handle on potential off grid requirements and I was quite surprised how many watts were measured, It started charging using around 250 watts and gradually increased to nearly 700 before fully charged.
  4. Yes, you usually still need to notify the council/tree officer for works within a Conservation Area, even if it’s permitted development. Since it’s within the RPA, submitting the AMS and getting written confirmation before starting is the sensible (and safest) approach.
  5. Exactly Joe. And AJ would almost certainly bang Tommy out pretty quickly. There has to be some plan/script that we aren’t privy to. I doubt AJ would just take a dive, it can’t be as simple as that.

  7. Brilliant ! Just ordered it, sent to my father's, thank you for the hot tip. I won't be able to pick it up until my next UK trip but that's all good with me. Just need to ensure I don't lose the rest of the parts... 😂
  8. Thanks stubby
  9. Holm Oak and some Iyv . Good fire wood .
  10. The one "current" boxer he's fought was Tommy Fumbles and he lost that so it really goes to show where he is in the grand scheme of things.

    Forest School Area

Looking for wood chippings, logs, branches and tree stumps for the school forest school area. Woodchippings for flooring as the ground is incredibly muddy and water logged. Logs and branches for den building and structures. Tree stumps for seating.
  12. @kram seems to be on the ball with these batteries and it will be interesting to see what @Fatboy2017 finds. A big difference between lithium ion batteries and the dry cells and lead acid ones we are used to in cars and toys is their very low internal resistance, so the chargers need current limiting as well as the correct maximum voltage. If this battery pack charges then well and good and @Fatboy2017 can use it again. If not, and allowing that @kram thinks the output from the battery is directly connected to 36V,with no switching by the BMS, I will be interested if the tool works with it when charged by other than the Stihl charger.
  13. Hi all any idea what type of tree the tree is with the greenery on it? Also is it any good for firewood once split and seasoned thanks
  14. I’m in my 60s and am pretty sure that the job is keeping me much fitter and more supple than I would be otherwise. That said, I wouldn’t fancy climbing every day and work with a fitter, younger guy, who can. The work I do is mostly supporting the climber at this stage, and I’m happy knowing the job still gets done and that I’m not doing myself physical damage. I am fit enough to step into the climbing role when needed, but I’m glad that I no longer need to do that every day. I have an exit strategy, so as Mick said, head down to the finish line 🏃‍♂️‍➡️
  15. I don't really know with these Stihl batteries, I've done it regularly with AA and AAA's and I appreciate your caution, Maybe buy a new battery and then try to boost the old one from an independent 36v source... three 12v batteries in series maybe ? Cheers.
  16. Pls call the number and someone will open the gates. Once on site, member of staff will guide where to leave the woodchip.
  17. When you have performed CPR for 15 minutes and still had your own brother die in your arms, because of the actions of a speeding driver, come back to me on that one.
  18. You would like to think so, but there’s got to be something we’re all missing. Jake Paul isn’t much of a boxer, but he’s not stupid. Getting sparked in round 1 can’t be part of his plan. (I know, everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face.)
  19. The driving one is pretty simple. Anyone driving faster than me is a maniac. Anyone driving slower than me is an idiot.
  20. I don’t for the same reason I don’t break any number of other laws that I think are wrong. I don’t want to risk prison and come out to find they’ve sold my house. I also don’t know any black market gun dealers, or how to go about finding one. I don’t move in those circles. I’d be interested if you could look back through the more philosophical points I’ve put in the last couple of pages because all you’ve effectively said so far is, “Alreet, Rambo.” Have I lived the last twenty years tripping from one near-fatal experience to the next, lucky to escape with my sourdough loaf intact? No. I’ve had almost no bother at all. Could that change tomorrow? Yes. Will it? Probably not. I suspect I could go the rest of my life quietly avoiding dodgy situations. So I don’t need to carry? So nobody does if it’s so safe here? It’s not about me or anyone justifying why we should be able to do something. The natural law starting point is we can do something unless there’s a good reason not to. The problem is people (you in this instance) are currently wired to think, “Why?” rather than, “Why not?” The papers etc. All the headlines imply some kind of wrongdoing you should be angry about and someone you should be angry with. It’s a lot of programming to resist. Try a thought experiment where you’re ridiculously open minded about everything. You see something despicable. Start from the point of view that it’s their prerogative, their business etc. Then look for the victim of their actions. Does that victim deserve to not be wronged? A lot of the time you’ll arrive at the usual conclusion, like yeah, that scruff shouldn’t have thrown his McDonald’s bag out of the window. But some of the time you won’t find a victim and you’ll notice how you've been judgmental by default. Good example is speeding. You’re plodding along. Someone tears past in a properly fast car. “MANIAC! See how you like three points!” But why? They haven’t hurt anyone. Anyway. Ramble ramble ramble. There was something else I was going to say but it’s slipped my mind. I’ll get back under the van and it’ll come to me.
  21. There's a good, used crank currently on 'the bay' for £40. It's a decent seller...used them in the past. Item number 336306838952.

  23. Anyone have a ham glaze recipe they’d recommend? TIA
  24. Because we are human animals, we have evolved to successfully out-compete other animals, to use tools, form tribes and learned to build institutions and then learned how to manipulate other humans to our own benefit, not theirs. Then these tribal leaders clash because we live on a finite planet.
  25. compression is a peak value, so you could still have a ring leak or a stuck valve etc. even the oil itself can contribute to the compression.
