The best waterproof jacket is two of each.....of whatever make works for you! Literally just ordered another waterproof jacket as i can't keep up at the moment! Don't know about where you lot are....but here.....here....It.Has.Not.Stopped.Raining.....i mean weeks of it!!!! I can manage a day in a decent coat, the problem is drying it for the next day....two pairs of chainsaw trousers, two pairs of chainsaw boots, two pairs of decent waterproofs....only way to face the next day!

Found this on an apple tree earlier. The damage is all the way round with no connection in the bark, yet the piece above the wound was alive and healthy. I guess the central bit must contain some live xylem which is still transporting water up? Have you seen similar before?
