  3. No I shall be in Northumberland seeing family. I have no interest in seeing the president of the USA on a golf course.
  4. Today
  5. Their system is a lot more regulated compared to the UK in my experience, if you subcontract work from another company they may not v=be able to pay you without the right tax documentation

  9. Last time I had to send my licence in, I took photos etc to make sure they didn’t rescind my permission to drive a traction engine or submarine or whatever. To my surprise, it instead came back with the updated B+E. They must know I’m out there, hard at work turning the wheels of the economy.

  11. Yes I believe that sort of thing happens. It was an unusual case that if you took your test before a certain date you got this entitlement, the law changed and those with the entitlement had to prove that they were using it at the time, I think this involved a letter proving you were a professional driver. If you weren't able to prove it, or like most of use, were unaware of the need to send in documentary proof, you automatically had the note (107??) added to the licence and were downgraded. Then new drivers had to pass the c1+E to be able to pull heavier trailers.

Valtra Valmet 6350 Igland 60 Winch (used for 1 job) Quickie Loader with Grab and Bucket Owned by myself for a few years now being used for winching and yard work. No longer working in the industry so time to sell. Grab has seen next to no use along with the Winch. Bucket is well used. Mud flap missing Front mesh grill has seen better days but I never changed it due to use in the woods just incase. Great tractor, starts instantly and no smoke. I will have it looked over again before sale to make sure all is ok and pass mechanic details onto the potential buyer.

  13. Thanks for the reply, I won’t be planning of climbing anywhere public as in parks etc.. Going to approach farmers land etc.. I do have a couple of jobs to do but I won’t be doing them until I have the correct insurance etc.. appreciate you taking the time to respond, thanks again.
  14. Thanks for the reply. Dead wooding etc seems to be the way to go. i am fortunate to live in an area with plenty of decent trees. Seems like from most peoples reply’s just need to put my self out there and ask around. Thanks again 👍
  15. when I came over as a sole trader in 2010 the UTR number sufficed. And when hiring uk guys that’s what my accountant wanted too (But yeah all company’s no matter size pay/charge vat) no idea what it’s like since brexit, I stopped hiring uk guys around then anyway the only company that comes to mind for tree planting is Magnus Thor AB , about an hour north of Stockholm, see his vans about planting alot. Give them a google the big forest companies seem to sub all the practical work out, just plan the works in house
  16. Probably the best Mussels I've ever eaten. Right on the quay, fresh as. A warm day so the cold larger was perfect to wash it down, brewed next door.
  17. No dog in the fight so to speak,, but what about public liability insurance, what happens if say for example someone takes it upon themselves to climb a tree, in a public park as suggested, and while a member of the public who hasn't noticed or expected anybody to be up trees as no restrictions of access signs or barriers or other indicators have been put in place, and an accident occurs, branch or any other object falls and hits a member of the public, in this world of "where there blame there a claim", how would that pan out, certainly not a good start to a climbing career is my thoughts. Is it even permissible to climb trees when not contracted to do so by the relevant authoritative body? maybe a more favored approach would be,assuming all your ducks are lined up for paid work, would be to start on a few easy low risk jobs, gaining experience and confidence as you go, then maybe taking it up a notch or two once you have a few successes under your belt. obviously your pricing structure could increase as your experience and confidence grows.
  18. Local park woodland, might be hard to find a decent tree for limb walks thats away from paths and busy areas. No saws etc just climbing kit, no one had any issue with it. The park was a conservation area. Never asked permission - leave it tidy and no damage, no spikes and be aware of people nearby. A few roaming walkers didnt look up, didnt see me, and started nosing through what they thought was an abandoned bag until I shouted down ! I'd suggest taking any excess kit in a backpack and bring your rope up well out of reach, if your on your own. A friend owns a large oak so I was playing on that, and it needed deadwooding, so I dropped that for her whilst I was in there. I would not climb any trees overlooking houses or gardens without permission, sadly most of the decent oaks in my area are in residential green spaces. Or drive until you see a nice domestic garden oak. I dare say most owners might allow it if asked nicely and you can inspect/deadwood/light prune for them if they want it.
  19. That was quick! Ordered Sunday from Amazon Japan. Should make the long reach hedger feel about 500g- 1.1kg lighter depending what size battery I use.
  20. Rich, I imagine the DVLA pinch entitlements knowing that a lot of people won't fight back because they're backed into those sorts of corners. Rules upon rules. They want you to trip up. Scum.
  21. I get a tug over here every few years, I get the impression they’re quite impressed with it’s Dead Sea scroll vibe! I say to them that I spend half my time in the UK half in France. They tell me I have to change it, I agree, then we go our separate ways.
  22. I had planned to do the same Mick. But I got into an altercation with an African pastor in Catford one Friday afternoon. He basically drove into me and scratched my Navara and did the wing mirror. The police were called and when the plod checked my details and asked why my license was still registered to the North East when I lived in London. I was at risk of a thousand point fine. Hence the reason I applied for the photo card license.
  23. This is why I keep my paper license over here.
  24. Wow! surely that's never happened to anyone here has it?
