Bought a set of Stihl corldless secateurs for a long hornbeam hedge reduction, along with the GTA 26 mini chainsaw pruner. Not that impressed with the GTA 26, a silky with a new blade seems quicker. But highly impressed by the cordless secateurs, both the power and battery duration. The booklet says you will get around 1,000 cuts per charge. When we knocked off today the cut counter was reading 995 cuts and the battery indicator still showed 2 bars left. Most of the cuts were through 10mm or more, as the HS82 hedge cutter did the thinner stuff.

Keep us posted on how it goes. I love my Echo 2511tes, never dared to but the clone version.

I think it will be the best thing any one who is rural can do for coverage … we have had it now 3 years and have zero complaints unlike some of the other broad band schemes which my neighbours have tried and found to be a waste of time.

Starlink can point pretty much straight up, Satellite TV is a lower angle and is affected more by the trees - many more starlink satellites out there

As above. It doesn't have the same energy as the same volume of say oak or ash so you will need to load the fire more often. Usually a wet tree so get it split and started drying sooner rather than later - however despite the water content when freshly cut, it should be dry fairy quickly and be ready for next winter in the right conditions (ie it sops raining). Could try 'planting' a log see if a new tree will grow from it to replace what was cut down - fascinating to see that happen when it does. -
Wanted a top handle for a while. Won't get loads of use. Got this from ebay. Echo2511 copy. Runs ok on moto-mix and I've treated it to one of @Rob D Chainsawbars kits. So far...so good.

Install was really simple. There are only two cables; one from your power socket to the router, which is not very long, but was fine for me; and a 15m cable which goes from the router to the satellite thing on the roof. Not sure that would work for everyone, but my office building is just one storey so I drilled straight through the wall and went up. I will report back here about extreme weather but It isn’t affected by normal rain or mist. I could use my mobile with it I am sure but I have a landline that many customers ring and have had for many years, so I will transfer the number over once I have proved it is all good.

Have heard nothing but praise for Starklink, we'rea tad rural, and the copper wire doesn't support sensible speeds. Many ( business ) neighbours have full satellite dishes, an increasing number of folk got the Starlink kit early on, when you had to buy the gear outright, and then pay about £75 per month, I think. We went wireless with EE, one of the first trials of the kit, offered to problem BT users. It took us from frequent dropouts, serious buffering when streaming, and a max speed below 2meg, to 20meg on a good day, and no dropouts. The bad news is, it costs me nearly £50 a month, but wait: Galloping over the horizon is Quickline, who will be my saviours. 200meg for £20 a month, marvellous. Win, win. However: they have put the cables in round us a while ago, and promise connection late February. ( The more savvy among you will have noticed that they fell at the first hurdle, the cables are still just sticking up from the ground, and nobody is connected to anything ). They ring me up regularly, and ask me to sign up as " an expression of interest ". Well folks, I'm definitely interested, but until I see a cable outside my house, I'm not signing anything. 1200 metres from my house, the cable turned right at the t-junction, back to the main road. We're to the left. 😪 Watch this space.

yes. You'll want to mix it with something slower burning, or you'll be up and down as was mentioned above -

Cut , split and dry it, it'll be fine -
Thanks.Think I'll give those a go for next season. All the hill farmers up here seem to wear Kaiwaka gear but it's bloody expensive. It's thorn and barbed wire damage that stops me wearing waterproofs. The hateful tangled hedge I'm working on now has a fence so close that I'm wearing an old tattered pair of work trousers rather than rip my chainsaw trousers to bits. But for the price of those Sip jackets I'd be prepared to give them a go. Shame they don't seem to make the trousers to go with them.

My sip keiu seems to do the business. Been out all day in the rain hedgelaying and remained dry. If your sweating maybe a wicking base layer and then coat, fleece addition if it's cold.
