Thanks for the replies. Our local builders yard on Uist is selling 6x2s at £35 or possibly more now. I've been treating the timber I use myself with Boron and so far it seems to be ok. It's only sprayed on though. We burn all the off cuts ourselves and if theres too much I can easily sell it. My wife has horses so the sawdust gets used up no problem. Horse shit and saw dust makes great compost for the garden.

Avoid anything caustic - very common in ultrasonic cleaning fluids. It will turn cast alu a nasty black colour.

Steam fair was always great for picking up stuff, ive a fiskars bill hook ,axe, . Sandvik brush hook - what ever that is , then the standard pattern bill hook found in a skip.. but ive never had or owned Yorkshire pattern double edged billhook

The Honest eSIM allows you to roam quite a few apps including nav and messaging, I don't have it but was working in Lincolnshire this week and the phone signal is rubbish on my network up there. From £3.75 a month might be worthwhile in Wales? honestmobile.com/smart-sim

Worth a punt is it Weex.

I dont have one, but it seems to be the one that everyone uses.

Good points, and the little I’ve been able to glean over the internet points to operation not being as easy as the vid illustrates. But I could sell the Bandit and buy this without losing money. Take it to work on the back of the truck rather than a dedicated trailer.. Can’t seem to find any first hand experience though.

I purchased one of those hard wallet ledgers yesterday steve (Ledger nano X) You do not have to give out any info to use it. You would need to sell any currency to a third party not through the exchanges to keep under the radar though. You know far more than me about this stuff.

I have for the first time used the angry emoji. But the trouble is will it be clear that I am reacting angrily to the subject not the fact that it was posted here. Or am I just over-analysing…?

Big fan of Steve, national champ Devon style last year and reserve supreme champ. Really passionate and an excellent teacher

I use crypto.com and Weex. Any of the big exchanges going to take your details, its the law. Weex is a bit different. Fees are lower, but the software isn't quite so user friendly as the big names. You can find lots of new emerging coins on there before they make it to the exchanges though....by the time they make it there, you've usually missed the boat, so theres opportunity to get in early with Weex.

Anyone pulling their money out of crypto right now and putting it into Gold is most probably selling at a loss to buy something thats peaking. QE coming into the US markets imminently which will change things

They do look impressive in the video, but: Not easy to use, for removing lateral roots, I'd guess, compared with a conventional grinder ? At £13k plus per unit, you'd need to be grinding a few stumps to see a return on your investment. Looks like they would need a wider base carrier machine too -no narrow access jobs. I couldn't find a figure for replacement blades on the Dipperfox, but I'll wager they will be more £ and less resilient too? The wood-waste produced by the Dipperfox can't exactly be used for mulching Mrs Miggins flower borders.. We've got an old Becker stump blade (uses a slightly similar principle) somewhere in the back of our shed. I must check and see if it's taken root there(!), since we last used it over a decade ago.. Sorry, I'll get my coat.

Have a big driveway that woodchip can be tipped on. Just need to know in advance to make sure we don't have any visitors cars/they can be moved off

Feel a bit beery, on account of three pints in the pub then a bottle of wine and a late, salad supper. Now lying in bed watching YouTube videos of the stupid idiots following the Sovereign Citizen ideals. Weather decent here but have a look at the Lyme Regis webcam of The Cobb! Could sit in the pub/cafe and watch that for a bit! Penne, Trait.

The head on it was crispy, and over the fence and Llama pen below. So dropping branches was a limited option without rigging, which was also limited my 60m rig line, the rigging point would have been about 32m up. The stem and whole Tree was also weighted quite a bit towards where the wagon is sat. So free falling logs would have also been a pain to get them going without tag lines. As well as needing to put a gob in from both sides on the lower half with a 661, which is hard. We also looked at a straight fell, but to consequential should the slightest thing had gone wrong. Primarily an unknown hing quality, it Autumn the lower 1m of the stem was a Honey fungus garden on all sides. So the short answer, a crane had it done by 1330 with no damage or stress and way less fatigue.

I was thinking only yesterday how light it is at four now. And what a doddle of a winter it’s been generally. Chin up mate. Might never happen! Beaters’ day today. Aiming for another free from injury or disfigurement. I think about your man in the gulley often.
