First of all, our train from Manchester to London was delayed by an hour but luckily we got some friends to pick our daughter up from school.

Had a call from a tree surgeon wanting to drop off some chip, so thought it was going to be a pretty good day after all...

Just as I went outside to greet him, it started raining and I got soaked. Then his truck got stuck and the only vehicle with a two hitch was blocked in by another one and of course the keys were back in the house.

Was just retrieving them when our friends came back with our daughter. After dropping her off, they reversed into our fence, knocking it over.

The chip was a massive load and because the ground was so soft it's not really where I need it but he mentioned he has a loader which can move it in future... The ground is pretty messed up too, dreading on seeing it in daylight!

How was your day?

Client wanted more off the edge of the tree than I originally thought so was almost dark when I got down and starting to rain so dashed to clear the last of the brash across a churchyard, slid on a flat gravestone so now have a sore buttock then getting my rope down the pully saver got stuck for the 1st time in months so back up the tree by headtorch to retrieve it, late home, wife not happy.

Sorry to hear that se7enthdevil.

I spent £500 on a new gas pipe in a flat I'm selling only for them to then tell me the boiler is buggered and needs servicing, the climber I was working with clipped a gate with the very tips of a branch which broke a bit out of the top board and worst of all I got a really vicious ping on the nipple from a whippy bit of Ash which stung like hell. :argh:

I remembered that's I'd had a not too bad day, that all my grandparents died a long time ago, but I miss them less than I respect them and admire them, that superstition is counter productive and can now be classed as OCD.

I relished the fact that I have a new saw and my other half allowed me to bring it in the house without major drama.

I appreciated the fact that my family, and precious dog are all well, happy and warm, and that I have some bloody good mates who I've met on arbtalk and would hope to do as much for as they have for me, if I can.

Life's short, but I enjoy mine, and so should we all. Screw superstition, I've left out all the parts of my day where I was no too thrilled. Get over, move on.

Arbtalk helps. :thumbup1:
