  2. I'm in the process starting a new tree surgery company based in the Pontardawe/Swansea area. I require a climber or groundsman to help me get the business up and running. Initially, to be honest, the work is going to be slow coming in but hopefully will quickly pick up and soon we'll be working full time. You'd need to have the basic qualifications to carry out the job including CS30, 31, 32, and most importantly 38 and preferably some experience would be great. You'd also need to be prepared to become self-employed and work for the company as a contractor. PPE can be provided. Please drop me an email if you think this job opportunity may suit you on [email protected] or call 07887911470. Cheers Paul Hastings.

Hi Everyone, I'm based in Glasgow, am NPTC certified, have about 3 years self-employed experience covering most ground-based aspects of arb work and felling, a reliable chainsaw and a clean driving license. I also have my climbing tickets, and am looking to consolidate with a bit more experience on that side of things. Please get in touch on 07789621187, or pass this on if you know anyone in my region who might need a hand. Cheers Dru
  4. Self employed groundsman/climber wanted in Putney, London Hardy Tree Surgeons is a small highly professional tree surgery business based in Putney, London which has been in business for over 14 years. We provide a high quality service mostly for private clients in South West and Central London. We pride ourselves on having excellent customer relations, being extremely careful whilst carrying out all jobs and leaving sites cleaner than when we arrived. We have not needed to advertise for over 6 years as the majority of our work is through recommendations and repeat work. We carry out a wide variety of work, ranging from small fruit trees to mature 200 year old oaks; courtyard gardens to private woodlands, survey work, to installing bat boxes and abseiling eyebolts! We currently require a groundsman/2nd climber to work for ~3-4 days/week initially but with scope to increase this to 5 days/week in the future and to work as part of a larger team on bigger jobs. There may also be an opportunity to take over the business and to develop it further or take on a managerial role with on-going support. 5. Hi all! I am 24 and desperately looking for an apprenticeship, I am a very keen worker and always look forward to advancing training and skills. If anybody in the northampton area is in need of an apprentice, I am your guy! My aim and dream is to get up in the trees, however I am more than happy to do everything in between for as long as it takes. Currently I am saving to do my CS30/31. I am happy to pay for my own training at the minute (no point in sitting on my arse waiting for a handout). And have no problem acquiring relevant tickets needed for additional work. I am fit and more than willing to work hard and for as many or whatever hours are required. thanks for taking the time to read my pathetic plea! chris.

  16. Just putting the feelers out really to see if anyone knows what work is like in the north west at the moment. i'm about to get out there freelancing and would like to hear from you good folks, especially employers in the north west, about how much work i can expect. am i going to leave a regular paid full time job and end up on the dole within 6 months and lose my house? I know its a difficult one to answer because it depends on myself, abilities, dedication etc. but provided i do everything right, and am good at what i do, is there much danger of me sleeping in a bin behind co-op? (not as unpleasant as it sounds if you can get the cardboard one before anyone else bagsies it ) I have all the relevant tickets and quite a bit of experience. Cheers chaps.
