  1. surely just going to make sea levels rise
  2. happy to pay 12 or 15 quid an hour for someone thats gonna be into the job, eager and is gonna get the work done and not drag-ass. 8 hours at a tenner is 80 quid. if that same lad can get the same job done in 4 hours, at 15 quid an hour its 60 quid and its worth the extra 20 for getting the job done quick. problem is young lads dont seem to understand that thinking, get the job done quick and get home quicker with comparatively more wages. they just seem to drag-ass and try to get 80 quid for a full day. where do you find better lads who are switched on and actually want to do the job and start getting into tree work? coming from arb college is no good cos they want megabucks and still cant do anything, and dont want to drag brash facebook dragslags are a waste of space and dont have any interest in the job or learning and doleys are waste of time. are we talking careers days in schools or what?
  3. twenty isnt plenty. its a pain in the arse. so i ignore it. maybe if kids were taught Stop, Look, Listen in school instead of being taught we are killing the planet then maybe they wouldnt keep getting hit by plant-killing cars. and while we are at it kids can go f*ck themselves telling me i shouldnt be cutting trees cos of the environment. and older people should know better and not wander around in roads and then wonder why they got hit by a car doing 30. but from the flip side maybe if so many drivers werent utterly useless at it and could drive properly then 30 would still be fine. either way they can still sod off.
  4. ok enough with the stupid replies, im asking a serious question where do you all go looking for labourers.
  5. ok stop focusing on the "cheap" cos thats not even the issue right now the issue is where do you look for good lads, where do you find new workers who are wanting to get into trees but not rocking up fresh from college arb course and wanting megabucks cos they think theyre the dogs danglies. 100 quid a day goes a lot further as a wage for a 20 yr old than for a 30 yr old. but i have to find them first. thats the question. where do you find new guys.
  6. what i want is someone young and cheap with a keen interest in getting started on the job by dragging then training up to cut and climb. ****************ed if i know where to start looking for someone young and keen for this kinda job everyone ive had from facebook has been a waster
  7. where the hell are people finding new groundmen? ive tried facebook and all i get are muppets but i dont need to be paying for a trained qualified chainsaw lad to rake up and drag brash
  8. i currently use shell vpower with husq xp oil but this is for a brand new 661. so im looking at only using either apsen or motomix in it. im just working on figuring out which of those two is the better suited or generally better. the lubricative properties of the fuel may weigh bigger than the clean-burning properties, but i cant be sure. currently i am leaning to apsen. im just wondering if we trust the guff from stihl and trust theyre making the perfect fuel for their saws, as opposed to just better than the other shite
  9. from aspen Aspens 2-stroke oil is very high quality and certainly as good as any of the other brands top quality oils. It is developed by Aspen themselves and not available as a 2-stroke oil alone so to keep the formulation secret.
  10. part of my thinking is that motomix should in theory be specifically designed and suited to a stihl saw, whereas aspen might be more generally aimed at being just cleaner than normal
  11. more specifically the oil additive does anyone have input on the quality of the oil aspen use in the 2stroke fuel? obviously stihl are using their ultra in motomix, which means premium oil but potentially lower quality petrol than the aspen if aspen are using oil comparable to stihl super, its potentially not a good for the engine both are gonna bend me over on the price, so thats less an issue
  12. youre not scared of heights youre scared of consequences. you realise how many more things could go wrong or how. but im still gonna call you a wimp, just because.
  13. that name rings a bell
  14. All the time. You should try it.
  15. wimp!
  16. because people generally are greedy and stupid and rush to spend money they dont have on shite they dont need, only to replace said shite 6 months later for new shite they dont need bought with money they still dont have
  17. those AT5002 PYL arbortec ones were great. so light and the air flows right through dont know why they stopped making them
  18. high neck/ zip neck long sleeve light weight summer work tops. anyone got any suggestions? hopefully not costing a fortune i need to find some for work. high necks stops shite going down my neck. long sleeves stop my arms getting scratched to fcuk. arbortec used to do a great pyl top that was super lightweight but now discontinued.
  19. just use the other hand? or get the missus to do it for you. mine takes both hands anyway, so im fine
  20. nah, a wooden box is the last thing i need
  21. id guess at looking in new zealand would be a start? and pruning trees around an all-female nudist camp sounds like a good stimulating time. hahaha
  22. 80 yrs ago today, it was late may 1943
  23. saying that, did you see the size of the rack she had though? if you were there you know what i mean.
  24. cost. and time, takes most of them a week to set up the stand anyway. plus power consumption. plus time and hassle to de-tag everything at sale. plus the scum would just shove it under the back of the tent. maybe we all just watch each other? if you see someone shove gear in a bag, call it.
  25. im not sure its so much accepted as just so hard to stop. such high footfall, so much stock out in the open, not enough staff, people already carrying bags. and everyone looking for cheap or free. they try to watch but cant watch all the people all the time. the only step forward is either alarm-tagging all gear, or keeping most stock in the back of a truck not on display. neither ideal. maybe between us all we can come up with some future ideas for them all to use in theft prevention
