if it becomes a problem the pink panther is the best weapon to save us
  17. drop it in one saves logs dropping off near the windows and stuff one low cut in the right direction removes risk of stuff swinging at height or dropping move the car, rope the top, 1/4 gob 18inch from ground towards the grid in the gutter, go through the back 2/3, pull it over no pressure on the saw when you cut, let it nibble to reduce jamming from fibres. after that youre on your own. or pay someone else to do it and shove it all on the back of their truck cos its shit stuff
  18. dried camel turd
  19. just wear a top i can feel comfy in if it gets wet and have dry change. if its bad enough to need waterproofs i aint working in it. not spending a fortune on fancypants lightweight flexi waterproof tops that are gonna get ruined within a week. cheap aldi jacket does fine
  20. 90% within 5 miles
  21. taking this "why bother" thought down a new path, how much do we all clean up afterwards? surely a customer is going to expect a large amount of sawdust from a tree coming down? do we get it all up or do we feel its acceptable to leave sawdust all over the borders cos they epxected it anyway? obviously lets not destroy the garden in getting the tree down and not leave branches all over the place but some leaves and sawdust?
  22. yeah just put the word around. try some of the smaller sole trader guys, they might value the occasaional day worker on a bigger job and be done by 3 on the heavy stuff
  23. tenner says its about 2 inches too wide to fit through a standard side gate
  24. but will the insurance not try every single possible trick to wriggle out of paying anyway? and find some tiny thing you did wrong and you still end up taking the hit? im fully insured, for a few years when i started i wasnt, its made very little difference i can see to any work ive done beyond legal requirement i see the argument for not having it, feels like a waste of money but the cost is fairly easily absorbed over the year if work is steady
