  1. It's after 6pm, he's probably pickled in merlot by now.
  2. Beautiful work, Bill. I love wolves, they're my favourite animal and this is a beautiful sculpture! I need to find some money so i can have you carve one for me too! 😇
  3. Mmmm.. for more display saws. (I do miss using them, it's a shame having them all sat on a shelf drained down and unused.) Just for Stubby, another job in progress. 😂
  4. Next you'll have idiots doing all that to a saw that just sits on a shelf! Oh, wait..
  5. Might give you a shout and come down this week one day if it's not pissing down.
  6. Have you looked at the ram up close to see if there's any scoring on the pistons? (Make sure it's supported before getting under it!)
  7. Is that 120 after tax, ie take home of £600/week? You need to work the numbers pre/post tax really, but if it's 120 take home vs 160 SE then i'd say definitely no. Also, work out the loss in paid holidays, etc. The SE day rate needs to be significantly more than your PAYE rate to be worth it, more than you think. And as others have said, there's no safety net, no guarantees, no holiday or sick pay, factor in accountancy costs. It can be a good way and can be tax-efficient if you're buying your own equipment and travelling a lot (fuel costs) but you need to take that all into account.
  8. 36" .404 but Husqvarna branded, the second saw is a display one, so i want that exact bar. The other one runs a 36" .404 Oregon bar. 🙂
  9. What if Chuck Norris is actually the Mick Dempsey of film? 🤔
  10. Box of goodies arrived.. All fitted. Just need to find the right bar now, but seems what i want is only available in North America.
  11. Is that to go with the 395 you're keeping warm for me? 🤔
  12. The 550 is a great saw, and can be had for about £570 i think so not too much over budget. Mine only has a 15 on it, great little saw. That'd be an animal! My 572 with a 20 doesn't ever really slow down, let alone with a 16.
  13. You have to remember that teenagers know everything, and for most people that wears off with age.
  14. We're good at this - invent a game then get consistently beaten by everyone else at it.
  15. Skyland Equipment ( @Mark_Skyland ) or L&S Engineers. But there's shortages in all industries right now. What parts are you after?
  16. There's "Road Closed" and "Road Ahead Closed" signs. They're either incorrectly used or people don't understand them.
