    Yes Stubby, Mr Humphries identified it as Hair Ice and posted an interesting link to explain. Quite rare apparently and it doesn't last long when it forms. I was lucky enough to see it several nights in a row on the same piece of dead wood.

    I just did mine a couple of days ago, did online using passport which they say is the quickest way. Last time I didn't have passport so used the post office and it didn't take long.     Could they have been chased to death but not bitten? Any I've seen have been pretty obviously attacked. Stock worrying happens more and more often around here

    Wondering if they could've been worried by dogs and then moved so the farmer wouldn't find them. Any visible injuries apart from the ears?

    I can't remember the details of it but I fitted a double end stove for a mate in 2015 and they love it. Opened up the living room fireplace through into the kitchen. It heats whole house easily, they rarely run both ends of it. Edit. Was particularly proud of the "H" shaped slate hearth, it's a single piece cut from a pub pool table bed.

    Yes, delivery is extra, cost depends on distance.

    Two of those buckets pictured is a loose load of 2.6 cubic metre. That's 269 plus delivery. They're mixed hardwood, seasoned for 2yr then kiln finished. A loose load of mixed softwood would be 175.

    As an only child myself I've often wondered if I've missed out not having any siblings, although I don't know many that have a great relationship really. And to be fair it was more a big sister I would have liked, she'd definitely have had very attractive friends!

    A cubic metre of loose logs is a lot less than you might imagine, this bucket is 1.3 cubic M. We call two bucket full (2.6 cube) a load.

    She will sigh too, when she returns from Edinburgh where she's seeing the Turner Collection of Watercolours and hears I spent the morning cuddled up with the dogs watching Paddington 1+2!

    That load is two deliveries, just over 5 cube in total. There's a plywood divider put in the middle, held in place by ratchet straps, tip half the load and keep half on until you slacken the straps. But no more than 35mph in the L/R!

    That's the drying floor. Once dry the logs are stored in another bay across the yard. I filled the drying floor straight away again today with chip to dry for the biomass boiler, the hopper for it is next to the drying floor with the same type roof doors. The boiler runs everything on the property, including the drying floor.

    Had a quiet week to round off this year. Everyone's on holiday over the festive period so just been me and Santi at the yard doing maintenance on the kit, sorting out the drying floor and general chores. Few last minute phone calls for logs today so did a few deliveries. A happy new year to all, may yer hearth aye be warm.
