  1. I'm not an expert on heave but I really don't think it's an issue with that tree. There's no best time of year to remove it, just whenever is convenient for you.
  2. Like the idea but I imagine you'd need to add a binding agent of some type to hold it together. We'll see when you open it up.
  3. I thought that too, good to see respect shown rather than all the posturing. Think it was all genuine as they have trained together and sparred in the past.
  4. John said he has an echo pole saw, echo CS-352-ES with a 14" bar and echo 2511TES top handle.
  5. Despite the cool wind it was a beautiful day here. Went for a walk at a secluded reservoir, love this countryside.
  6. Treevolution are good, Chris that runs it certainly knows his stuff but I've not heard much about H&W. At least you've got a date for it, hope you enjoy it.
  7. Treevolution at Broxburn have places available on 1st August if not too far to travel. And it is (a bit) less than 4 months! CHAINSAW TRAINING COURSES CS30 CS31 NPTC 201 202 203. 8. He's doing well thanks Gary. Deaf as a time served tree surgeon and prefers a lift in/out the truck, but he's happy and when he smells a hare or deer he'll be off running for ages. Can't ask for more than that.
  9. 15 today. The sun is shining, crows to chase and there'll be hares to rampoozle after on the Moor tonight, happy days.
  10. Thanks Jim.
  11. Just trying to get a better idea of who you are really, I'm reading a lot of your opinions lately. What did you do as a Bioscientist? I don't know what that is I'm afraid.
  12. Welcome back! As you're here, interested to find out what science you do, or have done?
  13. Thanks for that. It's almost a daily occurrence that someone tears the cable apart on the chipper lightboards, these are just what we need.
  14. @william127 Your wireless trailer lights sound interesting, never heard of them before. What do you have?
  15. You were quick to complain about bullying but walking a fine line yourself.
  16. How long since you met her?
  17. We did a big connie hedge, reduce top and tidy both sides was the spec. We were finishing the neighbours side which was actually on our customer's property (I'd tried to make contact but no answer) when our customer said they hoped it didn't cause an issue as they didn't get on and the hedge had always been a point of contention. I feared we'd be in the firing line when the neighbour found out, but discovered the neighbour had passed away 2 days previously! Customers can be wilfully vague about these things in advance.
  18. Shill for big pharma.
  19. To be fair, all Mick's posts aren't saying the same thing.
  20. Sorry JC, I'm not trying to be confrontational, but why would people that believe Ivy is not a problem feel the need to control it anyway?
  21. Maybe the intention is to create two separate echo chambers so the believers can save the countryside from the Ivy menace untroubled by any disagreement. Makes little sense to have a thread (the "Ivy is NOT a problem" thread) where people can put forward ideas to control a problem they don't think exists.
  22. Hi Ross, it you haven't done so already it's worth getting in touch with local firms directly. What kind of work have you done in the past?
  23. That's impressive, great to have that reach and capability available.
  24. Very nice. Have you extended the chipper spout, and what does the crane lift at full extension like that?
  25. Removing flood debris from a bridge today, really enjoyed this job. Thought the lads were a bit sombre for a while though, just the odd comment, "grim job this" "we shouldn't have to do this" "we'll get counselling". All became clear when I got this from the boss saying the lads did a good job today, recovering my body from the river.
