  1. Leave it out mate, you're "meddling" with new badge possibilities.
  2. A customer made us coffee the other week, an older "cat lady" type, the kind of place your thinking this won't be good. She said she only had powdered milk but it was lovely, wonder if it's the same stuff... Will try that thanks.
  3. Coffee thanks for asking, milk and one please. What's coffee compliment?
  4. An arbtalk first. New badge in the post then! I do like to just make it in the morning with everything in. Know folk that'll take milk in a separate flask but all I see is an extra flask to clean, really lazy. Have used cheaper flasks in the past that I had to keep milk separate or it just went off but Thermos were always fine if clean.
  5. Must be a lot of flask owners here, care to share your tips for cleaning them? I've got two Thermos, the soup flask which is easy to clean as you can get a scrubber right in to it, but the coffee flask is less accessible. I rinse it thoroughly every night and let it steep at the weekend with bicarbonate soda, but it's not clean. Eventually it builds up a layer of gunk that flakes off in lumps into your coffee, and it seems to let the milk go off quickly. Someone suggested Sterident tablets which I'll try but glad to hear other suggestions.
  6. 48hrs is too long. He should go immediately along with all the trumpets that keep excusing and supporting his behaviour publicly.
  7. Pay attention Bond.
  8. You did well with that AJ, good to see 👍
  9. Yes, but to be a member for 8yrs you were first a member for 1yr, the badges have been awarded retrospectively.
  10. Been a member for one year.
  11. To continue the theme, more random ones. Ted and Ginty Santi and Bella The boys at work, chillin in their "yard bed" Santi, The Hound of the Baskervilles
  12. It's so you can stand in the safe position behind the mower with the safety handle held and still reach the pull cord to start it. In the pic it's not tied off but fed through a little ring on the frame to keep the handle in reach.
  13. Found pics from a few years back, taken early on a July morning. Hope the romantic nature of it doesn't put anyone off their lunch.

    Gloves

That explains why some weeks I feel like I've got really fat hands!
  15. When I see these love island starlet types I often think Rough Collie. High maintenance and dull. Border though, only thick ones I've known got kicked in the head a lot by horse/cattle. Whether they're thick because of being kicked or they get kicked because they're already thick I've never worked out.
  16. John read the OP again, I'm convinced you've completely misunderstood.
  17. I've no idea if the cost is excessive but what you say the report recommends sounds reasonable enough to me. Can't comment on the reasons for Tree removal, but the other stuff I'd have expected. Everywhere I go I see trees damaged by builders, usually they have no regard for trees. The fencing protects the tree/root system by stopping them hitting it with machinery or storing supplies in a sensitive position. The boarding will spread the weight of any traffic over the root system and lessen the chance of compaction of the roots. The Arb Consultant supervision of demolition and foundations seems reasonable too, they want to be sure that their recommendations are followed correctly. I don't imagine it matters how "interested" you are in complying with the report if it's a condition of your planning permission, but be aware that if the Council get the feeling that you aren't being up front about this they could decide to make things a lot less favourable than it sounds currently.
  18. The worst thing I think is that the botched work has revealed what's going into the river. The whole area stank of it and so many wipes in it, this can't be treated waste surely. To think it's compulsory to pay for these "services". Edit. I can imagine the contractors ticked all the boxes, met all the paperwork criteria etc...
  19. On a Wednesday I usually have a day off from tree work and do my own stuff. Part of it is looking after a stretch of river bank and adjacent ground, its on the River Tweed with fishing rights and Southern Upland Way walking route. A couple weeks back Scottish Water sub contractors came to fix the leaking sewer pipe unannounced. Having damaged a tarmac driveway and 2 trees while unloading their digger, the work took 2 days. I saw it when strimming today and it makes me angry. End result is a section of smaller diameter pipe pieced in but unsupported and leaking both ends, and they've damaged the original pipe above the repair which has become the new outlet, leading to a pond of shit water and wet wipes on the river bank. The landowner has complained but no response yet. It's ridiculous they can treat our Rivers like this.
  20. If you search "Australia" on here you might find other adverts of interest to you. Good luck.
  21. This may be the post Dan referred to
  22. Thought per se was a minor one really, John would have a stroke if folk started talking ploggish again! I know a guy that would struggle to spell "tree" correctly but can ID anything he walks past like an he's an encyclopedia. We all got oor strungths an weeknuses
  23. Have you tried checking for a tip site on here? https://arbtalk.co.uk/recycling/
  24. Reduced a Paper Bark Birch this morning with this beauty in the neighbouring garden. It was very interested in the noise of the battery top handle when cutting. They did sound similar, when it called out through the hedge I'd trigger the saw to imitate it and we had quite a conversation but no idea what we talked about!
