Would of thought so, just got to take in to account how long a battery will last, so take however many you think you will need, and you’ll need to have a means to charge them or any spares you take with you. Or its remembering to charge them every time you return to base.

Was jesting Rough, pulling Spuds leg cos hes had a non respectful and non compliant customer that hasnt fulfilled his requests. I am genuinely on the lookout for a 046/MS460 though, not bothered if its a non runner or owt, just as long as its complete. [emoji6] anyone [emoji51]

Just turbo housing or has it dropped shaft and dragged broken bits of turbine through?!

Shouldnt be any noticeable up/down movement on your big end bearing regards your crank. If you have a noticeable amount then its obviously took a “load” through the crank as a result of the piston nipping up, in turn dont forget this load will also have been transferred across/through the crank and in to the crankcase bearings. Hence the suggestion of replacing them both. Huztl.....? They are what they are. If its your go to everyday, heavy use, pro saw, then i’d recommend better, hence meteor. If its just a hobby saw to you, then fair enough i guess. Thats only my opinion of course. Its all tinkering with a good sense of achievement at the end of it whichever route ya go down [emoji106]

Depends what you want to spend? Age of saw and rest of condition etc will be another factor. Pictures are not too clear, is crank ok? If cylinder isn’t salvageable then i’d say you have only two options providing crank is ok. 1st is bin it and use whats left for a doner scenario. 2nd is rebuild it with a meteor pot & piston. Personally i’d go option 2, but id also go right through it, new crank seals, crank bearings, little end. If cranks shot then that could also be a decider on your decision. New genuine will be expensive, aftermarket will be cheaper but the life expectancy compared to OEM will probably be less.

If you have the part OEM numbers to hand, then punch em in to google and you’ll find something, L&S are very good though as Jwgm above mentioned.

The Mrs went for a job at British Aerospace Engineering (Samlesbury) when she first moved over. She had an in depth check done because it was part of the “aeronautical” sector and carried classified info etc. [emoji849][emoji849] So the fact you would be working directly within “British airspace” makes me think that it will probably be a thorough check, but ya never know! Just be honest Yolky, no one can ever knock ya for that!!! As same as a lot of things in life, what will be will be, and nothing ventured nothing gained. [emoji106]

I cut a beech up a couple years back, it had been felled as part of what i would imagine, an investigation involving some planning development that was to occur approximately 20ft away from where it was stood. It was non existent below ground level about 3ft easy i would of said, and nearly 5ft up centre of trunk that was on floor. It bloody stank when we started ringing/cutting it up!!! [emoji40]?? Made decent firewood what was left.

Was it from the root / ground level up Steve, or did it start part way up? Picture is a little deceiving, but you can quite clearly see the hollow.
