  4. Double up on your nitrile gloves, wear two pairs at once, then your task appropriate glove on top, you’ll never feel the cold or wet, works a treat [emoji106] As for your boots, nikwax, cleaner and preserver first then the waterproofer [emoji108] twice a year minimum, both occasions in your autumn and winter months, if you wana do more then thats up to you [emoji106] also works a treat.

  10. They are different things but have the same outcome, they give out power eggs
  11. A magneto is a form of alternator eggs yeah, but uses stationary magnets that when spun create pulses of alternating current to run the given electrical circuit / need.
  12. Honestly, i bet a local firm could pool weld your casing up solid, and even possibly build up with weld the stubb thats broken and tap to original. If they cant build up the stub with weld then then could just pool weld the casing, buzz it flat, drill and tap, then create another small threaded boss that can be skrewed and loctited in, then form a thread in the middle to mimic original spec. Defo worth an ask.
  13. [emoji849]??‍♂️[emoji110][emoji97][emoji97]?
  14. I remember playing around with bikes a good few years ago and those magnesium wheels were “barstewards” for just obliterating if they took an impact. Not like later alloy wheels that could be straightened. And they were chuffing expensive too! [emoji15]
  15. I’m assuming its a type of magnesium alloy but not 100% sure. First off i’d try whats been suggested above and tap out to next size. If that goes wrong for you then there will be some engineering company, no doubt not too far away from you that could match the material and probably pool weld it back to solid for you, then you could re-tap to original spec. Prob at a cost of £10 ish maybe.
  16. Presumably this will be down to emission regs is it?
  17. Looks a clean cab for a mid 80’s tractor [emoji106]
  18. What year did stihl start with the “auto retard coils” spud? And are they fitted to the smaller saws too?
  19. Think i heard something mentioned about that on guy martins series on lancaster bomber
  20. Hey Spud, nice talk through [emoji106] We used to use some sprays at work 15yrs or so ago, for highlighting cracks in metal components and the like. Dont quote me but i’m 99.9% sure they were made by “loctite” whether they still make it i’m not sure. a clear “cleaner” spay in a white tin a bit like brake cleaner but stank like thinners, a red tin with pink coloured spray “enhancer” that you just covered everything with, then a “finder” spray, blue tin but clear spray and it reacted with the pink making it disappear but left blue traces wherever there was a crack. Used them alot on ERF rear axles around spring saddles and diff casings, they had a spurt of shite metals being used to build axles and they were cracking up after 3-4 yrs of age. Poor!!!
  21. I have a chopped up beech tree that i split and i’m burning the majority, but my log stores were all full up so the rest i have heaped up till next year. I’ve never seen as much fungi on the ground in my garden since i heaped the remaining lot up. Bizarre yet interesting all the same. Will keep following the thread with interest [emoji106]
