  3. Any one had experience of the Nissan Navara with 3.0 V6 dci motor in it? Planning a swap next year and was looking at the Isuzu Rodeo 3.0 too. Previously owned a Nissan x-trail and loved the spec, toys and comfort for the money. Thats whats kinda steering me back towards the Navara, but apparently the V6 is on a slightly different chassis so the snapping issue is not a problem.
  4. Give it a bash, if you under tension the belt it’ll squeal, if you over tension then it’ll be quiet till alternator bearings pack in..... in which case you have a spare alternator off your donor motor [emoji12] and by then you’ll av learnt your mistake and you’ll get it right second time round [emoji106] every days a learning day.
  5. Up to you if you dont feel confident enough. Just need sufficient tension on belt so it doesnt slip and squeal, but not too much tension that your overloading the bearings in the alternator.
  6. Would imagine its a manual adjustment bracket on that, i’m not familiar with em to be honest. I’d tweak it slightly and apply some belt maintenance spray or silicon spray. Like all things rubber, time and age will take its toll and things will start to deteriorate, just like tyres, cambelts etc. For cost of a new belt i’d fit a new one anyway, piece of mind and all that.
  7. Is it only happening at tick over? This being from start up or from stopping after a journey? Have you heard it whilst you have been tipping? Can you create a better picture for us on the scenarios. If it squeals on tick over then to prove your thoughts on it being the alternator belt, just give it a spray with some rubber care or silicone spray. If the noise stops then your belt is where to start. What vehicle is it?

  14. No no no no no!!! I flicked through it, saw a bit on “spikey things” a bit where he uses a screwdriver to “pry” the piston out which involves using a hammer, to which he finds a crack in the piston and blames someone else. Then he roughly drops some trees at the end and tries to drag em up the hill. Its 10mins of my life i’ll never get back, but its more ammo to throw at Vesp when the mood takes me...... subtle reminders and all that! He watches some shite, no wonder he waffles [emoji42][emoji42][emoji42]
  15. Trying to rag that tree up the hill at the end with a weedy chain is asking for trouble. Especially when bucket comes up above top of cab, if that was to let go it’d go straight through him!
  16. I’ll see if i can “pry it out with a screwdriver” only the next noise you hear is from an implement used by swinging it!!! ROUGH!!! No wonder you shagged a few chainsaws up.
  17. Chuffing youtube again Vesp! YOU told me yesterday we’d moved on from this!!! ?‍♂️
  18. Good point yeah, didnt look at it from the other side.
  19. Should implant a chip into bodywork /structure of the tool that can be scanned like they do with our pets maybe. Pressed in Serial numbers and riveted plates are bit behind the times nowadays and easy to doctor.
