  1. If you can take the timber off site/convince them it’s cheaper to do so which tends to be the case over ringing up. An avant or same sort can be a god send. Less cutting, less sawdust, less fatigued.
  2. Surely “folks” should be terrified of tree quotes? If they are already expecting a high quote they won’t laugh us away when they hear ours? If you have none of the kit how do you know it shouldn’t be thousands? And to the OP, if you haven’t completed a job that size before or often, stick a high quote on it and enjoy it. Nothing takes the fun out of the job quick than knowing you’ve under quoted. Definitely want 3 blokes, one on the lines and one chipping/stacking. And if possible convince the owner to let you take the timber away, rig it straight into a trailer. One day 3 lads takedown, two trucks. one short morning 2 lads grinding/cleanup £1,650 but may be wrong hard to judge from pictures
  3. They stopped manufacturing 880’s earlier this year, husqvarna 3120 and 395. All to do with eu emission rules
  4. Depends if your digging it in or folding it out. If your just folding it out it’s a piece of piss to put up so worth finding that out first

  9. I run a Mf 3060, mainly with a 6 tonne timber trailer and all I can say is I can’t wait to upgrade to something that actually goes in 4th gear and doesn’t get over taken by cyclists. I think a tractors well worth the investment so spending a bit more that 6k would be a thought. You’d really want something that goes 50kph, it doesn’t sound like much but there’s a big difference between 40 and 50 on the roads
  10. Would lengths of 4x1 be ok as spacers? Does it matter if they’ve been treated? Got loads of off cuts from my last barn. Tia
  11. It’s was the final excuse I needed to get a mill, too heavy to pick up with a telehandler to stash at home and forget about. 13/15 ft long

  17. The leaves browning is leaf miner. Pretty much every horse chestnut in the country has it, shouldn't be of concern. Maybe a good crown reduction to keep its size in check and potentially bracing if you are concerned about the union. Best bet is to get a tree surgeon out to give you their opinion.
  18. Thats a fair weight, is it a protech one? what weight would you suggest one could get away with on 2.7 tonner? mainly for knocking in square post and rail
  19. what wight is the post driver on the digger?
  20. Bondgrip biomass near dunmow
  21. climbing up a ladder and spear cutting the tops out? that's not going to end well. Get a tree surgeon in you are going to kill yourself. If you still refuse to do that put a tagline in and pull them over. either or best to get someone in who knows what they are doing, it'll save you time and your limbs
  22. Mines a tcm Have the exact same problem, whenever I put pressure on it when chugging down it cuts out
