  1. Couple stuck together but that is all
  2. we don't buy cord in but when considered i came to the same costings as you. i think we have the same processor dalen 2054 which whomps through oversized. i guess its all on your delivery radius. most of our timber comes from site clearance and tree surgery at the customers expense to get it to my yard. i don;t think i could justify it if i had to buy the timber in unless it was on a massive scale. maybe to top up a season and not lose customers. we're £115 for 1.2 cube and £190 for 2 cube plus vat.
  3. Sorry Andy i forgot to mention i borrowed your Mens fitness magazine, found it under the seat in the avant
  4. 10mm teufelberger, the 67mm I think (the shorter of the two sizes) and with a knut hitch every time. Bites a lot quicker than a vt
  5. Many thanks
  6. Really? I always thought that you could go straight to level 4? I’m pretty well read
  7. I’m looking to go for my level 4 in arb, I was wondering if there was anywhere that I could this online? Tia
  8. i listened to your wisdom. i have rotate on the aux joystick control and ive got 2 manual diverters to switch the boom slew to grab control. works a treat, i never need boom slew with a grab and rotator
  9. Hi there, feel free to contact me on 07580048803, we have a mobile sawmill based locally to you. Kind regards, Martin du Preez Falcon Tree Specialists
  10. On my second pair now and will by again and again and agaim. My last pair stayed waterproof for 2 years, so comfortable as well. Far superior to mendls in my opinion
  11. Looking for someone to carry out a loler inspection on 2 climbing kits and a rigging kit this week in north Essex, Braintree/ Haverhill / Cambridge area. Thanks I’m advance, 07580048803 [email protected]
  12. So can i just keep selling my wood at 15/16% moisture in 1.2 cubic metre quantities as i please and as i always have done or do i need to sign up to some BS scheme? i have no interest is selling unseasoned green or wet firewood
  13. A remedial prune we carried out 3 years ago on a previously butchered/pollarded/topped/sexually assaulted chestnut. pictures are before, after and 3 years later. Just goes to show small cuts and decent growth points don’t promote excessive growth. Certainly one to keep for arguing with customers that little is more!
  14. Better than working in Essex clay surely 🤣
  15. That looks disgustingly leggy, makes my shoulders feel sore just looking at it , great result though!
  16. Tip the van up to slightly match the gradient of the ramps
  17. I always explain that if anything it ensures that we are milling it to the best of our capability so we can share the reward
  18. I’ve got 2 days of the same to do soon, was thinking of just giving it a good shake the digger
  19. That’s it little is more. Not only does it bugger the tree hacking it by a 1/3 but it creates a shorter management period with accelerated growth
  20. Can only hope. Nothing berates me more than spending ages creating a new crown and someone coming and butchering it
  21. Really pita reduction I did the other day, it had been done before but pretty brutally so there was loads of epi, didn’t get a before picture but there was 4 very well landscaped gardens directly underneath. Plus none of the fence panels slid out like expected so I only turned up with one groundie [emoji25] came out alright though!
  22. The welds on them are serious, the grab is so well built. They use them in aus for moving rocks, I’ve used mine regularly for clawing out stumps, haven’t bent it yet!
  23. Milling is actually knackering, annihilates you’re body and think of the vibrations of running an 880 all day?? I did 15litres of fuel in a one day two days ago. So charge your worth. I’m £300-£350 for subcontracting, other tree surgeons etc and £420 for domestic/private. Prices plus vat, and I take one centre slab home from each cut or I don’t want to do it because where’s the satisfaction and reward? This is with an 880 and 72inch panther mill. And tbf the only stuff I ever seem to do is oversized big lumps so they get their money’s worth. (I know the logs got bad shake but that’s how the customer wanted it done)
  24. Yea they are good to deal with. Pete Stonham at Bondgrip biomass in dunmow is another great one. His JENZ chipped 90x 80ft conifers with butts from 16 inches up to 36 odd in a morning
  25. I find the sawpod a vast improvement compared to hanging off your harness. It doesn’t get tangled in your saw lanyard or much else. It’s always where it is so you don’t have to faff about it finding it or trying to put it away when your in an awkward spot which tbh Is the only time I used one. My only gripe is that my lanyard or rope can get stuck underneath the bottom of the sheaf but this is outweighed by everything else. But to be perfectly honest since my addiction for the 150’s I never really climb with one, they are just lowered silkys and ashamed to say I cut and hold to much
