  1. Cheers Matt, I was about to buy that one but he’s pulled out the sale and hanging onto it 😪 looking for something similar!
  2. Looking to purchase a Valtra roof mount if anyone has anything up for grabs, preferably the older shape Valmet/Valtra 6400/6800
  3. One can climb forever, so just work for a good firm. If a lad starts saying his body’s starting to give up you either pick up a book and become a consultant or I throw you the digger keys,
  4. Subbing as a climber with a climbing saw and a harness and no insurance is a different ball game to turning up with everything. thing is the demand for Subbie climbers in our area has dropped off, good climbers are hard to find so when we find them we snap them up with a cushty paye job. the thought of subby climbing again makes me feel a bit Ill, fair enough when your 20. But the only jobs we did were **************** off ones, ones where their climber wasn’t up to it, or for firms running around in shorts. Turned my shoulders to dust in no time.
  5. It’s up to you really, as much as we should all be valued higher our industry isn’t. 2 man team in north Essex goes out for around £750 plus vat. £250 for a climber £150 for the company bloke leaves one with £350. Then minus fuel, insurance, advertising, finance, re-investing… what’s the point… if we could charge more and pay more we would. I used to Subbie Clive at £200 a day and tbf the majority of decent firms have their own climbers and you just end up working for cowboys on terribly run sites. Your insurance and rigging kit shouldn’t be necessary, any decent firm will have it
  6. Arborisk for me, circa £500/600 for any driver fleet policy
  7. Looking for ground staff, second climbers, anyone looking to progress their career. experience not necessary but would be appreciated. Must have a good work ethic, Willingness to learn, Good mix of domestic, commercial and forestry and pub. 07580048803 [email protected]
  8. Sorry I completely disagree with this, it’s a market, why should one not take advantage of for seeing a price rise and increasing their stock??? Farmers do it? You wouldn’t sell your Rolex for the same price you paid for it? Everyone does it, it’s capitalism. My prices go up with every one else’s, the vast majority of my wood comes from site clearances where I bill the customer to remove it from site, but my prices will still reflect the areas local market even though they buy it in. If I bought an artic of cord for £60 and it’s gone up to £80 quids in, that’s just business.
  9. Short spikes all the way, it’s just that they are a new set so will take some getting used to, if I changed from my Distels to say steins I’d have the same problem
  10. Put two climbers in the majority of reductions, not on rigging though. One climber rigging big is enough for 3 blokes and a digger to handle well on the ground. Can always switch climbers through the day
  11. There’s a video on the 8tonne and below plant page on fb, bloke is motoring through with a flail
  12. I thought case still have a few more years in their agreement with Hyundai?
  13. Will do, top 20’s isn’t that bad of a price in todays climate? Sure it’s not more?
  14. Just had a look at the eurocomach, looks immense for that weight class. Does anyone know a rough price?
  15. What are your thoughts on the sany? Any really bad niggles?
  16. Got to be zero swing, working in domestic, woodlands or beside the roads. I would smash the digger up or anything else up around it or just wouldn’t have the space. Personally I’ve never had a problem with zero but I can see what the advantages of what a counter weight would be
  17. Can’t say I’ve seen many mini cases? Are they much like the tractors?
  18. What are we saying is a strong 2.7t machine atm? What’s got good flow and durability? Using a cat 302.7 atm, just wondering if there’s much better? Any thoughts?
  19. Many thanks, appreciate it, would be a beer token in it that’s for sure being that local
  20. Hi there I’m in Wethersfield so just down the road, got a 72 inch mill on a 880. Give me a call on 075880048803, I can come and have a look on my way home if suited.
  21. We’ve got a rock machinery 22t splitter for arb waste. I’ve had it coming on 5 years now. Probably done roughly 1000 cubic metres of crap. Cost peanuts compared to others, few replacements here and there but nothing drastic. For the value I’d buy again that’s for sure
  22. This tickled me [emoji23]
  23. Up to you mate but I’d rather be in my box than 70ft up a tree with a 4mm left of my rope suspending. Can’t teach stupid
