  1. Thanks for all the replies. Starter mechanism is working ok and not binding. Chain brake is working ok and bar does not try to turn when starting everything seems to be working as it should. Have just managed to spend a few more minutes looking at it and it seems a bit freer than before no funny noises or anything obvious binding. Have out some WD40 in bore but this was after finding it had gone a bit easier to turn flywheel. Clutch is free with no obvious broken springs but I can see what looks like a bright piece of wire underneath it between two segments, just visible in photo as bright spot sorry can't get a better photo. Not sure what it is but will take clutch off this evening and have a look. As I've said clutch springs look ok. Maybe somethings moved while I've been looking at it and handling it.
  2. Thanks Khriss, no it pulls over evenly but slowly with plug out can hear it compressing and exhausting ok. No funny noises.
  3. Hi, My 251 has developed a problem in that it is extremely hard to pull over - so much so that it's not possible to start it. Has not had a lot of use as it's basically a back up saw to my 450e which I much prefer using. Both saws are run on same mix. Have pulled muffler off and can't see any dramatic signs of any pickup in fact was a bit surprised at machined surface finish on piston - looks like a ploughed field to me! Pulls over a bit better with spark plug out but even then difficult. I seem to remember a comment a bit ago about little ends could give problems on these? Saw was brand new to me and probably not done much more than 50-100 hours total but does get used every month or so. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Was skilled fitter back in the day and still maintain all our farm and forestry equipment so happy to get stuck in but just never pulled a chainsaw apart.
  4. Awesome offer.
  5. That's a bummer. On the bright side look at all the support and encouragement you've had on here from the guys. Also the offer of that free three day course from Rough Hewn is superb.
  6. You need a machine shop - should think there are some in your area if you google machine shop.
  7. 251 came out a lot earlier mine is a 2012
  8. Same here not a soul out apart from myself and one other, couldn't believe it.
  9. Loncin on whacker plate and tracked barrow both start and run well, every bit as good as Honda and better than b&s
  10. +1
  11. Sorry it's put the print screen in multiple times
  12. Displaying ok for me.
  13. Having had livestock trailer pinched by them, injured cockerels thrown in our field having been used for cock fighting, threatened with having house burnt down, their stallions breaking fences down and running loose and pestered to sell stuff I don't want to I'll call "travellers" for the scum most of them are any time.
  14. First time I used them bar I ordered had stock loss, Rob phoned me and explained and provided alternative more expensive bar at no extra cost to me. Ordered twice in December both arrived next day. Really great supplier. First port of call for me.
  15. I wouldn't take too much notice of the printed info, 220v and 15A gives 3300 watts not 3800. If it runs on 240v as here would be 3800. Amps also aren't power, watts are. Plug at least looks as if fuse is replaceable which is probably the best that can be said of it. Doubt if many on here are likely to touch it. Just bought a disk caddy for computer which arrived with non-fused plug and shielded earth pin, gave it a bad feedback and used legal and safe power cord I already had. Supplier offered to knock £5 off if I altered feedback, not that desperate for a fiver so haven't.
  16. For small suppliers under 600 metre cube per year does not apply until May 2022. Cost are about £120 to join then min of about £385 per year plus testing costs from a quick read on Woodsure and Government websites. 2 meter cube plus can be supplied provided info on seasoning wood is supplied. £300 fixed penalty if you are caught not complying with regulations. The Air Quality (Domestic Solid Fuels Standards) (England) Regulations 2020 WWW.LEGISLATION.GOV.UK These Regulations are made under section 87 of the Environment Act 1995 (c. 25). 17. Yes it will cost but probably not hugely as it's an urgent closure. Google temporary Road closure for whichever council is involved. Planned road closure is often thousands but Urgent is often much less Essex is £140 according to their website.
  18. Agreed the tree was not going to roll out and when cutting sections from the bottom it was always going to fall away from you, you rolled it out when it was possible. I use this technique where necessary key is that tree has a good lean away from you.
  19. Wickes also do these plus get a Tradepro account with them for 10% off everything. I've got the 36v one super little saw keep it in pickup great for those quick jobs
  20. Absolutely hosing down, 2 inches flowing past garages and back door got pump running to keep it down. Where's that Noah fella when you need him?
  21. Quite right Steve they wouldn't be so chipper if it had been their hedge.
  22. Yes got the impact driver and it's brilliant. Have sds cordless as well which is awesome.36v chainsaw is so handy to keep in truck for small clearing jobs. Like you really rate their kit.
