  1. Hey Hunter, are you sharpening the chains correctly? 0-10 degrees check your depth gauges are all the same. a ripping chain should leave a crosscut chain for dead. we measured 4-5 times faster. a 50cc saw is going to die if you use it for milling. keep the 50cc for felling, get a big old saw for milling. xcut chain leaves zig zag on the boards, rip chain at 0 degrees comes out nearly planed. good luck
  2. From personal experience, arterial bleeding, told to remove the tourniquet by 999 operator. Put a large wad of sterile pads on wound and told to apply pressure. hold limb in air/ above heart if possible. as joe newton says any first aid kit with a large wound dressing costs very little. Could save your life. take care.

  4. My mates looking at one for playing/porting etc. There's quite a bit going on stateside with a competition or something. He's reckons mostly ok but certain parts are sh*t. Either get oem or similar quality. Wouldn't take one to work. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  5. You'd be better milling with the 075, great saws. [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  6. Or I have a stihl 056super 90cc with new stihl 36" bar and 3/8 chain and a stihl 051 with nearly new stihl 36" bar and used once ripping chain. All fully working and original. £600 for the pair. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

  8. Hmmm I'm starting to see a pattern emerging. And it's husky flavoured. Anyone use a stihl? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  9. I'm a stihl man myself, but the 395 YouTube vids show it compared to the 661. Crosscutting the 395 appears faster. My local dealer does both saws, and he's a decent guy. I bought a 661, as I can swap bars and chains with 461. It's great for milling, very fast. I've used/owned 056/066/660 and I know most of the mechanics of the line. If you're going to mill big hardwood or seasoned wood go 120cc. As spud dog says go with your local dealer. [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

  13. Honestly, I'm not getting any younger. I wandered round the woods for the last nine years with an ms440. Thought it was light weight compared to an 051/075? Bought a new ms261 about 4 months back, it's ok but lacks real grunt. The .325 chain seems to blunt a lot quicker than 3/8 Got a new ms461 two weeks ago, not much difference to an ms661 in weight. Arm stretcher. Hence a gap in my saws. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  14. What prices do these fine saws sell for at market? [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

  16. Of this, there is no doubt. I have read 100's of posts in this thread. The problem I have is which saw? Stihl 261 or 461, or "buy a husky" [emoji33] Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  17. Spud in your opinion husky 550/560/357 or stihl 261? Which are really worth porting to make a big difference? My mech mate started to tell me about porting mtronic. Squish, clams and something else to do with cylinder being milled? I lost it before squish[emoji15] Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  18. Aaaargh! Still can't watch videos on here. It's the power to weight thang I'm after. Speed of cut and no bogging, balanced with not pulling my arms out. What's a 357 weigh? Also... My mechanic mate just told me about an 880 with a 361 unlimited ignition? Also he said after that the next limitation is the carb? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  19. Hmmm just checked frjones, they all appear to be auto tune. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
