  1. Dry it out properly first. That will stop any rot. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  2. As wonky said, get the silky out. Maybe clear from ground ish level up to 6'. Any new creepers, rip back and cut. Maybe get a picus test of the trunk? [emoji106]
  3. Get the resin out man! You've spent years hoarding these. Too good for firewood. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  4. For some reason my eyes are stupidly sensitive. When working as a welder, My colleagues kept asking if I was stoned? I had a permanent fuzzy headache and bright red eyes. After 6 weeks doctors told me never use a welder again. Cement/lime in the eye is nasty too. Had that removed by eye surgeon. Told me go straight home, as the anaesthetic will wear off shortly. No I said, I feel fine now it's out. I can go back to work? 1 hour later I'm at home eyes streaming tears. Burning eye socket. Yesterday cutting wood, wind blown sawdust caught me. Eyes were so red I thought they were bleeding. [emoji51][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  5. I find most 60cc saws weigh like a 70cc but cut like a 50cc. Get a 461/462/?72 Instead. Unless it's been past spud. [emoji12][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  6. Shit! I know those trees! That's the level! I'd heard it was bad in 87 in Brighton, but I'd never seen the photos. Nice one Sean. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  7. I hope so as I've been doing that for over 18 months. [emoji106]
  8. Probably looked at a garage forecourt log bag at £4 and thought I've got a hundred of them. [emoji51][emoji12]
  9. My apologies it's not an extra toe it's webbed feet. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
  10. And an extra toe on each foot. (Really) [emoji12][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  11. I lived in this village for several years as a kid. Well worth a visit. In winter after several days of continuous freezing weather, the whole back outside freezes into a crazy ice palace.
  12. In Brittany, when I sold logs. The standard was winter felled hardwoods. Extracted, cut and split in spring. Sold from November onwards. Half seasoned really. But locals would put that in a barn and burn the load from the previous year. You could buy in 1m lengths unseasoned for about €10 less a m3, but you'd have to buy an artic load.
  13. Has anyone seen the video of the water powered wood workshop? I'll try to find it. [emoji106]
  14. Age is a b****. My brain is convinced I'm still 25. My body is certified at 42. Only 26 years to go to retirement!!! [emoji51][emoji51][emoji51][emoji12][emoji106]
  15. I agree, That's why I'll be writing to them, as they suggested. It'll be a year or more before I can afford a tractor rig anyway. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  16. Maybe he's a sneaky spy? [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji12][emoji106]
  17. @ratman can you find one of those witty memes to post, You know the one about NOT FEEDING THE TROLL
  18. That's what I'd heard vaguely. I thought I'd get it from the horses mouth. Vosa and the dvla are combined now and dealt with the red diesel and mot, vehicle and license and trailer questions. Hmrc for ag,hort, forestry registration and Tax. I told them sometimes my work is 280 miles away. They said no limits. I will be writing to hmrc to confirm this in a letter as they suggested this to cover myself. It would be strictly for arb work. [emoji106]
  19. Won't need it for a tractor with trailer [emoji3][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  20. This morning I spent an hour and a half on the phone to hmrc and dvla. Lovely people [emoji3] I also have the same problem of moving wood. On a standard car license, I am allowed to drive any size tractor with any size of trailer with unlimited load, No mot, no tax, can run on red diesel and no limited mileage from base. Only limitation they mentioned was 2.45m max width. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  21. I spent two years fostering abused dogs when I was younger. From fox hounds to fighting pitbulls and dumped puppies. Everyone of those animals was messed up by its owners. Dogs aren't the problem. Its irresponsible owners who project human psychology onto an animal. 100 years ago 95% of all dogs were working dogs. Now it's less than 5%. Nearly all dogs are ornamental pets now!!!! People forget they were once wild wolves!!!! Handbag/fashion dogs?!?!? **** **** ****ers.
  22. Stubby, I hate this shit. Irresponsible dog owners are wide spread. If I had a dog which would attack other dogs,(and I have)it would be on a very short leash. The whole scenario seemed to have been badly handled by plod. My sympathies to your sister in law. Get the dog back first is smart, as some animals mysteriously pass away in custody... Sadly courts take a dim view of dog attacks, justified or otherwise. [emoji51]
