  1. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] Ok mate, put up a video of your 660 "ported" saw, I'm sure that double jungle muffler is a touch louder than stock. [emoji12][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  2. I've tried wood fires, charcoal fires and even dumped bags of coal on the stuff. Bit like the terminator, kept coming back. Couldn't even cut through the root mass, had to under cut 6'x6' x12" then ripped the whole slab up. Cut it up with bow saws, as we'd already knackered a new bar and chain. Watch out for toads etc we found loads hidden at the bases. Nightmare stuff.
  3. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji106]
  4. It's old, it's dying. It'll fall over at some point in the next century. I think twig is right about the oil tank though. [emoji106]
  5. I gave my daughter a milling job at the yard. She was terrible. Couldn't even lift an 880 with 56" bar and mill. My advice: Never employ a 9 year old girl. [emoji23][emoji12][emoji106]
  6. I've used a few different "spud" ported saws. Different level. I use only stock saws at work because of insurance. [emoji106]
  7. Get some sweet chestnut, hazel and ash mixed in. I've seen French farmers coppice hedges and extract milling logs too. [emoji106]
  8. Anyone know of a pump which will fit the 55L motomix barrels?
  9. Buy barrels mate, it's cheaper and no mountain of empties. [emoji106]
  10. That's exactly how I read that post! [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji106]
  11. A living hedge will take many years to establish and will need protection on both sides from livestock. It will need laying every few years as well. But it's so worth the wait, Absolutely fantastic for nature. I've only planted a few kilometres, there are several pro hedge types on here, look for the threads. [emoji106]
  12. Veganism is the future. But not until mankind has pushed the animal apocalypse into the history books. It'll take generations. And I'm a hunting omnivore. I also think when we rip the piss out of groups of people for no good reason, That keeps people away. Inclusivity is important. [emoji106]
  13. That's almost the same as most nuts. Take a look at your peanut butter jar. [emoji106]
  14. Sure bud... Or have a look at the: today's milling thread, today's job, advanced chain sharpening etc etc Or my YouTube channel: Roughhewnuk Or my Instagram page Roughhewnuk I'm also sponsored by Logosol portable sawmills Panther sawmills Or through the hundreds of posts I've done on Arbtalk. I do a mix of subbing and my own work, Mainly commercial stuff from car parks to construction sites and clearances. I also travel all over the uk subbing to various firms and individuals, I've worked in small scale forestry,LA, Emergency rail and utility work, domestic arb etc As well as the sawmilling and selling of beautiful oversized British hardwoods. [emoji106]
  15. I've bought several syphon pumps, all crap. Need a proper handled pump. [emoji106]
  16. Ask the dvla, hmrc and vosa. I did. When I get a new engine for the transit, I'll be trying to get it hort registered. Will update what happens. [emoji106]
  17. I bought my wifes felcos from a car boot sale. Some guy had about 50 pairs in a box. Quid each. [emoji106]
  18. Electric chainsaw. And a jig or a very steady hand [emoji12][emoji106]
  19. Correct, it's classified as horticultural. The rules are even more relaxed. [emoji106]
  20. In my teenage years, I ate quite a few fly agaric, dried, fresh and simmered in milk. Nothing. No effect whatsoever. But I do know a guy who ate several hundred liberty caps, then a few hours later the jehovahs witnesses knocked on his door..... Brainwashed and lost now. He never came down. Put me off that kind of thing for life. [emoji51][emoji51][emoji51]
  21. This really gets to me. Half my family is black, My good neighbours are Pakistani, I employ muslims, christians, Hindus, rastas, sikhs etc Black, brown yellow green etc All decent hardworking folk. As long as you can do the job, I really don't care what gender/religion/race etc. I really love Arbtalk, but I honestly wonder why swearing gets had up occasionally, but outright racism is acceptable???? Thankfully Mateless has been banned. I understand that moderating a forum of this scope is a huge undertaking though. I think a few pm's to a few on here would calm things down a bit. [emoji106] So Wisewood when are you posting more bear photos in the chainsaw carving thread? [emoji12][emoji106]
  22. Wisewood you've answered your own question. Instead of only posting vids on YouTube stick em on here, lots of folk interested in carving. There's an amazing carver in the unit next to me at the yard. I'll ask if I can photo some of her stuff. [emoji106]
  23. Or how about we look into what we are allowed to do? Legally! There are massive exemptions for forestry and hort/tree surgery. Seriously go phone hmrc or look on their website. You can drive 30 odd tons MAM on a car licence, with no tax, no mot, and using red diesel. [emoji848][emoji106]
  24. Fantastic stuff [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  25. I know a guy who makes them. [emoji106]
