  1. I assume because they will be better quality. I guess you can’t sell a chain for half the price and expect them to be 100% as good. There will be limitations but if your usage is within those limitations then why pay double? For the record I’m leaning quite hard on the processor chains when they are starting to get dull. It’s a fair old swing arm on them and you’re really forcing the chain through the logs harder than (I think) you’d accomplish with a saw.
  2. No need to wank when I’ve got your panties down Eggs. Ok, I really must go. 🤣
  3. The evidence is your last few posts. It’s easy for anyone to read back and make their own minds up. You getting all butt-hurts not gonna change that nor will reposting it all again. You can pull your pants up now. I’m off out to collect some Ash Saw Logs.
  4. Eggs, I’m not going to regurgitate our current conversation just because you’ve been caught with your pants down.
  5. Everything is concisely contained within a few posts. There is simply no need to do so. I’d be quicker just screen shoting the last 30 minutes and reposting it.
  6. No need, you managed that within 5 replies. It’s plain to see for all.
  7. You’re backtracking Eggs. I don’t blame you, you farked up with that city comment earlier and you’re trying your best to recover. Bless.
  8. Eggs, you just said it’s different in the cities. The implication of that statement is it’s the opposite of what you state. Yet 82% of the population is urbanised. This highlights the flaw in the weight you put on your non-city living empirical viewpoint. To such an extent that you yourself state it’s different in the cities, where the vast majority live. You’re tying yourself up in knots here.
  9. You don’t personally need to know nor meet any spongers. It matters not the circles you or I move in. Interesting comment you made when you state “in the city it’s a different story” considering in England 82% of the population is urbanised.
  10. It was another processor user on here who suggested them. I bought two for my old 034 to cut dirty timber. Again blown away by the quality for the price. I’m only 5 chains in so I guess it’s a bit premature to sing their praises but if they keep holding up like this I’ll be a regular customer.
  11. Really odd as I’ve not had any of these issues with the 5 chains I’ve used so far. At about £8 for a 5 litre Jerry Can of premium unleaded that lasts maybe 3 hours on my processor I find £8 (delivered) for a 13” chain that lasts 2 days minimum in clean timber a bargain even if I just trash it after. I processed 16 IBC’s yesterday with a single chain. That’s near on £3000 in hardwood on a chain thats still going strong and only needed 1 tighten.
  12. See? I knew you knew. Nothing to do with beating up the working class, which since I work I’m apart of. I wholeheartedly agree with not beating them up considering it’s me getting hammered here in Scotland. But then we’ve come full circle back to the lazy and the feckless. Buying their votes is expensive, but since they make up an increasing majority all the parties need to now do so. The SNP are a case in point. So, back to Labours parting letter, to have spunked all the cash to whom where they hammering and where did the money go? Im in favour of a far fairer society where people are held accountable for their actions but also their inactions. The amount of lazy and feckless in the UK is unsustainable and it’s the working to middle class who have to fund their lifestyles. I say fark that. We need to end buying votes with more and more freebies for the workshy and scum of the UK. The tails wagging the dog.
  13. Not that long ago in the grand scheme of things. Coffers need refilling. The Tories have blown monumental amounts of money on Covid but whatever they blew it was never enough for the SNP, Labour or the Lib Dumbs. So considering the above letter in times that did not include Covid or Brexit and the opposition screaming hysterically for more restrictions (which cost eye wateringly) and more funds for Covid I think it’s fairly safe to say we’re better with the devil we know and we’d be taxed far more under another party. You know, like the SNP are doing up in Scotland. I wish I paid the tax you guys do down in Englandshire.
  14. Should they have to hedge though? All we’re really seeing now is us having to pay back the artificially capped rates by the companies that did hedge. No such thing as a free lunch.
  15. Well you did say 50 years of oil has had us accustomed to cheap heat. It was not cheap though, it was just the going global price. Norway saved the revenue raised through selling their O&G to the UK and Europe. I really don’t see the relevance of bring a country that does not burn much hydrocarbons into the picture? I guess the Oil wealth generated in a country of 4-5million allows for the country to drag themselves out of relative poverty but similar oil reserves spread over 65 million people will have less than a 10th the benefits Norway has seen. Should the revenue (rightly) stayed in Scotland then potentially we’d never see the rise of the SNP and maybe we’d be in a similar situation Norway is today.
  16. Norway did not treat their oil bonanza differently. They sold their oil at the going Brent Crude prices. Norway differs in how they spent (or saved) the revenue from O&G. Norway has historically had cheap electricity due to a significant portion of their generation being from Hydro. Norway does not use gas to cook or heat their homes and rarely used oil. It’s generally always been electricity and wood burners. Their petrol and diesel prices are on a par with the UK. I’ll assume Norway (Scandinavia) has historically had better insulation than in the UK is due to necessity long before saving the environment was a glimmer in greedy politicians eyes. None of this has anything to do with Norways oil bonanza.
  17. Same as it’s ever been in that regard. Folk have been flogging knicked goods down the pub since forever. I’m thinking we’ll see a huge increase in fuel theft. From vehicles, heating oil tanks to even firewood. These things are knicked anyway, but I see a substantial increase.
  18. I think a 10 year old machine will be way outta my price range. Would be perfect for me though
  19. Same with us Eggs. We’ve stopped using the central heating in the mornings and evenings now that oil prices are sky high. We just keep warm cloths on till the stoves kick in. I cook double or triple what the recipe states and freeze the extra in baggies (perfect for the missus when I’m off-shore) We’ve cut out electric usage from near on £300 a month down to £90 a month (pre-increase) not because we have to but why waste the money? Times are going to be hard for a lot of folk, so they have to make some tough decisions. You can feed a family of 4 a health set of meals a day for a few quid. If they have to make meat a once a month special occasion then that’s what they have to do. Theft is gonna go through the roof soon.
  20. Energy is getting stupid expensive. So important decisions need to be made by families. What Diff has empirically observed is what I see here in Scotland as well. These folk who will feel the pinch need to cut out frivolities and knuckle down. They can’t complain about not being able to pay their energy bills and at the same time be going out doing what Diff has covered. Folk look incredulous when it’s suggested to them to turn the heating down or off. Put some warm cloths on and have a few blankets in the living room, it’s not rocket science. Stop using the dishwasher, cut down on the washing machine usage, limit TV or PC usage, prep meals for the week and re-heat in the microwave. There is so much people can do to get their usage down but don’t through shear fecklessness.
  21. Thats a cracker! I'll keep an eye out then. Cheers.
  22. I'll get a rough terrain if forced into it, but I think they are just to big for my needs, plus it has to live at the house and Id rather not have something so ugly siting in full view.
