    How do you plan on protecting the Spruce from the elements? Its not exactly known for its durability

I really liked its format and the way he delivers

    After having masses of scabs building up at the house I thought I’d best find a solution to handle them better. Found a design on-line that I thought looked good so built it. The idea is you cut all the scabs to the same length and they fall into the space below for easy collection. Will be useful for use when milling as I can just load them right onto it and when it’s full cut them so it’s ready for the next load.

    I’ve bought the Eufy system. No subscription, expandable with lots of different options. Good resolution. We’ll worth the money.

    Very interesting. Not had much to do with it but I’ve a few tons in the yard. Some logs I could mill but I’m fuel hungry right now. These Beech logs would have been crackers milled but needs must 🤣

    If it’s “shop” new I doubt it’s been finished in Danish oil. Most likely sprayed in something cheap but durable. Polyurethane is where my money is. Squarely is on the right track, how is the (most likely) laminated bits of oak held together? The elements will most likely decimate your bench. As Squarly mentioned pics are worth a thousand words. There could be solutions.

    Lots and lots of posts on Facebay with seasoned Hardwood at £80-90 a Builders bag round my way. I know a few who sell kiln dried and they’re now over £100 a builders bag (or equivalent)

    I’ve not tried it yet. 😬 Melted the Piston and it was a job finding an OEM Piston and Pot for it. Finally got one and it’s in getting repaired now along with the Straight Shot. Hopefully get it back soon as I have a couple of jobs lined up for it.

    The hydraulics are so simple they don’t really fail. Replacement parts are readily available. You do have to re-charge the oil every 3-5 years though. I’d hate to have to go back to a manual clamp. The hydraulics far more efficient.

    😳 He even threw in a couple of half ton logs as they where a bit bent.

    Some nice Larch Sawlogs delivered today. Need about 3t for an order that will cover the cost of the 11t I had delivered. £90 a ton stung! Not used to paying that prices but certainly nice logs. I’ll use the rest for 6” beams for the log cabin and the rest for fencing.

    I have that model. It’s a great machine for home use. Not sure I’d be wanting to use it for a business venture. I’d have thought anyone offering chain sharpening services would have an automatic machine.

    All good points. But Cathy is looking for logs that will be ready for the Stove this year. Spruce will be ready in 2 months in the right conditions.

    See if you can find some Spruce. You can almost see the water evaporating off the logs.

    He makes a good point ( for a change) I simply dont care about Tories meeting for beers in a garden, I do care very much about people using legal loop holes to dodge tax Hiding its one thing, but it sticks in your craw when the Putin lover here openly boasts about it yet condems them for doing the very same

    Because almost half the population hate the Tories and will happily use any excuse to see them punished, genuine reasons or not
