  1. Really Yes really. it seems a rather smug stance to take considering plastic are basically hydrocarbons. No to hydrocarbons in the shower, yes to hydrocarbons in your fuel tank to needlessly ponce around the country. Surely you see the hypocrisy here? You talk of fitting steel instead of plastic. Have you considered the amount of hydrocarbons required to deliver you a sheet of steel over a sheet of plastic? So again, in case I’m far off the mark I’ll ask in what way?
  2. Bad for you, bad for me, bad for everybody else. In what way?
  3. What’s with the hard-on for plastics?
  4. Don't want to buy a load of unnecessary plastic, don't like the average plastic shower room in a camper. Feels nasty. Easily damaged Oh right. OK.
  5. What’s the deal with being plastic free?
  6. Realistically I need to lift 1.2-1.5t when Im working with Hardwood. If I bought my own Loader the Estate would be happy to provide all the extra ohmph above and beyond. If fact the owner handed me the keys to his new Articulated Tractor over the weekend. I refused as Im not competent in such a machine, he'll give me lessons though. I'll see if I can find a pic
  7. Just your usual Scottish Winter/Spring Could only get the shots as I climbed my stack of Spruce and had some eager volunteers doing all the actual work.
  8. Thats a fair point Les. I'll have to do the sums and see what I can do. Most likely something will have to go but maybe I can hold off and put some pennies aside to get something in place.
  9. This was a quick and dirty way to load the mill without the Avant. Two lads from the paying Estate doing all the donkey work. Was done in 2 hours. Easiest full days milling to date. [emoji3]
  10. Well thats very timely for me as the Estate is selling their Avant so Im loaderless now. I was out looking at a wee Bobcat Skidsteer a 400 series but they wanted £6k for it. I thought it was well over priced but also too wee/narrow to handle long logs, ie 6m. Im now looking for a Telihandler in the £10k range as without a loader Im kinda gubbed. I dont have a huge turnover but Im getting over £4000 of orders to fulfil each time Im home now. With minimal outlays it seems worthwhile investing in a loader.
  11. I was talking about a whole hole. Not a bit of one. Well this is clearly Steves first time so I can see why you needed to clarify.
  12. Hole hole hole.
  13. I like it too, unfortunately its not mine.
  14. Had a couple of easy half days Milling this Spruce. £20 a cubic foot so ended up as a £1500.
  15. No, in the West we taxed that outta existence. Mainly by ignoring what the majority of the world is doing regarding pollution.
  16. Well, its amazing to see what a minute percentage of the worlds polluters has on the world stage. Who'd have thought that the countries that contribute over 70% of the worlds pollution can continue doing what they're doing and we'll fix everything in the West through tax.
  17. Whatever happened to Acid Rain?
  18. I find they dry very well. As well as just stacked, but they are in a windy location. Im going down the road of IBC’s now mainly due to ease of stacking and easier to move around. I guess I’ll see if the drying time speeds up. Would be magic if it did.
  19. Vented bags are brilliant for drying logs. Builders bags on the other hand are not.
  20. You can buy a good running 038 for under £250. How much will it cost to get this one running again? £500?
  21. Les needs to stick to making Fence Posts.
  22. £250?
  23. I think that changes from generation to generation. Not sure if being an Emo is still considered hip these days.
  24. You’re burning logs with over 50% mc?[emoji15]
  25. Loads of info on here. Try searching and reading a few threads.
