  1. https://www.flexiblelining.co.uk/toptex-wood-storage-cover This stuff would do a better job than debris netting. If you store the IBC's in rows of 10. (3 high then 4 high then 3) the water would run off the tops and air would flow well underneath the pyramid. It's the same way we store straw although the straw sheets we use aren't breathable so wouldn't use them on logs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Firstly, the bad experiences, particularly from suppliers who couldn't state a volume of their delivery- why did you even continue with the order if they can't clarify the volume. Second log size- if it wasn't as ordered, tell the supplier and get them to do something about it. If they didn't state a size and you didn't ask either then you can't expect it to be exactly what you want. A lot of your comments can be dismissed with the same logic- moisture, wasn't as stated- have them swap it. You didn't ask or clarify with them the moisture level- garunteed to get crap. I can think of at least half a dozen national suppliers who could do a better job in a crated load with British wood than you've experienced. In my area I can think of even more local suppliers (including myself) who I'd trust to buy a load off with clearly specified volumes, moisture levels, log sizes, wood species and delivery times. You're either a troll, overly fussy or need a good lesson in how to use google to find you a good local supplier! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Would be very interested. Send some pics and what's your location? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. About 1.8-2 loose cube to the Ton. I've had slightly more than that in the past off a 12"-16" diameter only 25t delivery though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. About 300-350 when below 20% moisture. Comfortably 500kg wet. Hardwood that is. Softwood will be 250kg dry tops. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. 8 way for 10" and above usually. Just by eye though, don't measure them though. I'd probably use a 4/6 way more than I use the 4 way if I had one. Anyone tried a 12 on the 400? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I'll be glad to see the back of it purely because it's very tiring having to chase my tail to keep up, even without any extra promotion. I knew it'd be like this but due to farming/livestock commitments wasn't able to prepare as well I would have liked. I'm ready to get started now and be set up exactly how I want to maximise production and minimise time wasted during delivery season. Then I can push hard to get new customers lined up for next season! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Post it? Probably £20 to courier it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Stockton-on-Tees. In the north east. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. It's tipped out of IBC's that have been in the kiln, then bagged. I wouldn't do it if we didn't have the concrete yard to load from though. I am also thinking of making a screen to tip them onto to grade the bark and shavings out of it after drying, it can all go back in the chip store for the boiler then. Would be easier with no teeth on that bucket though. For the barrow bags I fold the lids into the bag next to it to stop the logs falling between. You get a pretty even fill that way and can drop then straight on a pallet and string/tie round the 4 to make stacking easier. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Yeah we've got a plain cross 4 way. I'd rather the 6 with the gap as it'd save time swapping heads. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. If your 6 way is the 4/6 way combination knife I'd be interested? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. The quick way to fill barrow bags. The only part that takes longer than bulk bags to fill it putting the lifting eyes on the forks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Dad cut his on Boxing Day!!!! [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Going out the door as fast as I can dry it. About 16 cube a week. Still new customers coming in for it too, not just existing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Dealt with the same con artists! Apparently sells thousands of tonnes a year and has 4 glen farrow kilns on the go. Probably doesn't care if he gets bad publicity with all the RHI he gets. You can see the huge piles of trees in his yard on google maps! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Yep same up here in the north east! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. 16 cube of hardwood for a fresh batch in the kiln. Felt the chain going a little slower only by the last 3 or 4 cube which isn't too bad i don't think! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. £90 in 1m3 bags to customers but I couldn't tell you firm trade price for a wagon load but I'd imagine it'd be in the region of £75 a cube if it was in a tipper wagon. The time spent bagging and loading a curtain sider wouldn't be worth it at trade. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Is this aimed at me? Are you asking trade prices or what I'm selling them out to customers at? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Picking up nicely after all Christmas spent building the new kiln. Finally up and running doing 16 cube in 4 days currently (to below 20% down from 30%ish) Delivered 6 1/2 cube in 2 loads since 6pm tonight. Another 6 to go out tomorrow. 6 booked in for the end of next week already too. Not even advertising properly yet either! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. We have a chip boiler so we either know how many tonnes were in the wagon load that was delivered or we know the volume of our chip store if we're chipping it straight into the store, no chance of weight measurements there. In your case I'd do exactly as you have suggested. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I wouldn't trust a word those scam artists say. We bought a 38m3 bulk tipper load out of pure desperation from them to keep customers happy after issues with our kiln. Bagged up we got 32 cube at best. Was only 80% filling new 1m3 bags and not even shaking them. They wouldn't take the complaint, not even a derisory £50 back or something. In one sentence he said they couldn't fill right to the top because of the loader driver... clearly needs sacking if he can't manage that. Then in the next said they empty 19 x 2m3 stacked crates out into a bay and fill the wagon with that. Never heard such rubbish. Had half a bag of gravel in the bottom too out of the bay no doubt. Now our own kiln is running we're using IBC's not quite filled (so they measure 1m3 volume rather than 1.1) and empty them into 1m3 bags. If I have any issues I'm going to either give each bag some sort of ID so I can a) keep track of them and b) I can have evidence of how each one was filled; or explain to customers how they are filled using a video or photos on our website/Facebook and state that they may settle in transit by up to a certain percentage. 24. Wp36 from Riko is the closest to your requirements. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Speak to a local farmer and find an agricultural fabricator. They love little jobs like that to finish the day off with! Probably have a bit of bucket edge hanging about that'd be good for it too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
