1. personally, I trust this united nations wood-fuel handbook
2. yes, it is actually the safety cage being raised that causes it just does not disengage the safety mechanism
3. Anyone had this before? The main leaver sits in the far forward position after a manual split and has to be manually returned to centre. I have the external splitting leavers fitted and it seems that now the safety mechanism, which engages when you lift the shield is no longer resetting (i think). its either a spring missing or crap jamming something I would guess but I can't see anything which would cause this. Thanks
4. Hi all, wonder if anyone has come across this issue, I have a farmi wp 36, it has just started squeaking really bad. i have swapped around the nylon block so no play in the bed but still squeaking. i have a call into Reko to see what they can suggest. Thanks
5. Nice one, when it finally gets to eaten away, guess I'll go for the changeover
6. How easy is the changeover, i have the igland blade and am not happy with it.
7. lol, you would have thought so but that's what brought it on, I dropped of some leaflets and a couple of bags of wood, he picked up the bags and that's when he went off on the whole hardwood has twice the energy content and softwood is the only wood which creates creosote
8. have a look at this http://www.fao.org/3/a-i4441e.pdf i had a discussion with a stove seller who tells all his customers never to burn softwood, which really got my goat as where we are there is no hardwood and i only supply kiln dried softwood
9. From that i take it you have one or have seen one in action?
10. So has anyone done this, just wondering what the out come was.
11. I know but need a roundabout number, its all going to be softwood if that helps narrow it down a bit
12. Hi all, long time lurker here. i know this has been discussed in the past, i just can't find the post. anyway the question is how much does a 1m3 vented bag weigh before drying and after. 185Kg springs to mind for dry, but i also need to know fresh cut as i need to buy a tractor ... on a tight budget
13.
I am on the point of ordering a glen farrow system, how is yours doing? would you buy again
