  1. Haha I know, not going on the road anywhere with it though. Just to the spot I stack the IBC's! Dmax pulled it no problem and that trailer needs a ton on it before it tows properly, it's horrible! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Finally got round to this big stuff, average about 14" so having to re-split a few pieces each cut even with the 8 way on. It's making beautiful logs, barely any crappy bits. Hard work in the beating sun getting them down the stack on my own without the 360 because I was short of space though!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I agree, I know I need a 17" type 73 Oregon multicut chain for my tajfun400. So I use chains direct because I can search by chain type instead. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. The chipper hates brash sorry, it just wraps round the infeed rollers or drops out the bottom before it reaches the drum. Most of it is sycamore bark that would crush up in the boiler auger but any bigger bits or kindling sized pieces of wood would cause a blockage. The boiler is a froling chip boiler. 5. Been deliberating about how to deal with the brash created while processing and during drying. We'd like to utilise it in the biomass boiler then we get clean logs and no waste but it needs to be chipped and ours hates brash. What do people do? Not worry and send it out with the logs then it's the customers problem or do yours not like it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. They arrived yesterday so going to give them a go at the weekend when I can compare the 2 new thinner kerf chains to the standard chisel. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Ordered a pro lam for the 550xp Rob. Cheers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Not found anyone other than Bob who will supply just the bits to clag onto the insulated room. They all seem to want to do the whole thing so they can garuntee its efficiency. If you have that info list that'd be fantastic. I know where I can get most of the gear from I think but sometimes you need that extra expertise to make sure it's all working correctly. 9. Can anybody recommend me a designer or consultant to discuss firewood kiln design, heat exchanger/fan supply etc? I've been in touch with Bob cooper at Halifax air designs and he's very helpful, we know what we need but would like to get some alternate prices as we have no idea if the price is reasonable or expensive etc. We're building the chamber ourselves as it has to fit into our shed but the heater, fan, ducting and heat recovery system needs to be supplied. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. IBC's have better air flow if you want to dry them quicker. Also don't need as big a loader to turn them over. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Creates a bottom in the market but if it's not being sourced from the uk then it shouldn't affect prices locally by much if anything. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. We only buy in chipwood for ourselves but I can get you our suppliers details? Where is the customer at? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Yep, just near Stockton. Elton to be more precise. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Oh well, won't affect the chipwood around here then thankfully! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Any ideas what they're powering it on more specifically? SRC willow? Miscanthus maybe? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Ernest Bennett are decent but we find them a little expensive for blades. Just google the blade size and plenty will come up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Ibc cages

I'll ring tomorrow. Will probably take as many as we can get on our 24ft trailer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  19. Wasting your time and energy blasting air through containers like that. The air has no time to pick up any decent amount of moisture. You need to cycle the air once every minute until it is saturated, exhaust it then start again with fresh air. You'll need about 50-60kw worth of heaters to do a 40ft container and it needs to be insulated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. We're just near Stockton, and we have a Tajfun 400 that would handle everything up to 16" but will only do up to 50cm split lengths. With one other helping to keep me loaded I could get through that 20t in the day easy. Probably less, if there's nothing below 6 inches. Could potentially also bring our 1m horizontal splitter for the bigger stuff to get it all done. You don't want to be lifting 50cm 18" logs into the processor splitting chamber!! Probably looking at £45 per hour 2 men + tractor and processor, we'd just work til it was done. If it absolutely has to be 60cm billets then we could do the lot with the horizontal splitter for maybe £35 per hour (less if you could supply a small tractor to run the PTO) would undoubtedly take longer unless youd got it mostly cut to length in advance. PM if you want to discuss any further detail. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Is it a full 25t wagon load? How much including delivery to TS21 1AJ
  22. They've been sat seasoning for 12 months I meant. Vast majority is below 25%mc just the oak and ash lumps that aren't. It's all going in the kiln anyway. Soon evens out. [emoji846] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Tb175 with uniforest grab, approved hydraulics provided baltrotor swing link and quick hitch. Just need a rotator and it'll be perfect!! Makes everything so much easier!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Yesterday's session. 12month seasoned hardwood, lots of small stuff and awkward big bits so it was slow going but it's helping me get used to the Tajfun which can't be a bad thing! Sorely need a log deck making if I'm going to be working on my own though. Got lots of steel about though so just need time to make it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. First post. Heres our 6800 on the 14t low loader that we made frames to hold logs. These are bought in for our biomass boiler but the spot we store them isn't accessible by wagon and drag. Can get 12.5t on the two frames allowing us to move the full load in 2 trips. 6400 we use on the Vermeer 4090 chipper and Tajfun RCA 400JOY. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
