  1. Piston stop is a good bit cheaper in fairness...
  2. Any idea where I’d pick one up? Managed to cut the end of the piece of starter cord off yesterday in the pot trying to change the sprocket on my 395 so I also need to get that out too...
  3. Did you get that saw ported yet?
  4. Thanks mark, if you’re at APF I owe you a pint.
  5. The engineering side of me thinks the axles limit the weight, not the chassis, but the cynic reckons Iveco don’t want the 7.5 ton 4wd daily competing with the 8 ton 4wd Eurocargo.
  6. Lovely trucks, I’ve been lurking on eBay for the last few weeks... 4wd can only be gotten on 3.5 or 5.5 ton!
  7. £90 a day for a second climber?! Jog on....
  8. Cracking saw, only used it for an afternoon so can’t speak for its longevity though. I’m always wary of buying a new model saw, I’d rather wait until the faults have been ironed out... personally I’d buy a 461 and when the warranty is up send it to spud for a tickle!
  9. Sound mark!
  10. Hopper height, width of flywheel cover and length from back of flywheel cover to front of engine....
  11. Accidents happen but that’s sickening... ??I don’t like the lads at work going at my socket set cos they don’t put stuff back in the right place so don’t think I could handle hiring gear out... hopefully he’ll pay up without too much grief! Any chance you could get the measurements I was looking for at the start of the thread please? No panic, just before next weekend if possible....
  12. Is your chipper back from the menders yet mark?
  13. Try Hartnett-products.ie.
  14. What’s the height? Turn it on it side going in doorways... edit turn the hopper on its side, not the chipper obviously! [emoji16]
  15. What’s the price range between a cs100 and your cheapest tow behind Pete? Peruzzo have already proven there’s a demand, albeit small, for a tracked mini chipper so surely it’s a logical progression to put feed rollers on a “backyard” chipper?
  16. Could you pm me his details?
  17. Is that your own machine dan?
  18. Unless you’re keeping the original engine on just to power the tracks. Sorry, should have been clearer on this. My plan would be to just drop the chipper chassis onto a tracked dumper minus it’s skip. Much like the peruzzo tracked chipper. The boss has a tr8 already, it’s just for the odd job where access is tight.

    Tw125

Have an idea in my head the last few months, seems so simple that I can’t see any reason it hasn’t been done before. Tw125 on a mini tracked dumper chassis, hey presto, narrow access hydraulic fed chipper! Any measurements I can find for the tw includes axle width, not the body itself, anyone got one that could post measurements? Width of flywheel housing, width of feed hopper, length of chipper chassis?
  20. This lad constantly has a fleet of pro spec saws & tools for sale, just seems completely dodgy to me. Click the link, scroll down to “see more ads” have a looksee, you might recognize something. https://www.donedeal.ie/view/19362497Chainsaw
  21. Anyone know where I could get diamond files online? Reputable companies please
  22. Was doing my ua1 last month and the instructor mentioned a 75% grant available for forestry related training in Wales, didn’t look into it myself but it might be a cheaper way to get some tickets sorted. Maybe get onto TKF, he was a freelancer with them, can’t remember his name though...
  23. 562 is probably the most versatile saw I have, 18” semi chisel for every day stuff, relatively light and maneuverable for utility stuff and chipping , 24 or 30” bar with full chisel skip in the bag just in case I run into something big. Next saw up is the 395 but it’s a big hoor to be dragging about....
  24. Could it just be that merc are putting more effort into promoting the unimog in the UK and lads are upgrading? I’ve sent some of the deals Farols are pushing on finance for example, the figures make sense to buy new...
  25. You might gain speed but you’ll lose torque... my 395, 8 pin on a 30” bar kept breaking the chain tensioner when I cut on a pushing chain ( cutting upwards from underneath)
