  1. There's a tree nursery place in Corbridge near Hexham, Northumberland. HTH
  2. Do similar sweeping here. You just made me panic a bit when you mentioned blackened glass....
  3. The amount of metal in that lot says it hasn't been ******....
  4. Circular blade to do a 20" log? We have the Ryetec CP800 (eco) processor, it's blade is big - but only cuts 13inches max.
  5. Sticky residue on the stove glass? We've been told never to do this, letting WB's 'slumber' overnight using wood, as the residue will be up the flue too - risking a chimney fire....
  6. Is this website any good...??? The Stove Fitter's Manual | How to fit a wood burning stove Shame, as he doesn't list the Clear views....
  7. Rained over night up until about 11am. Faired up, so I took the hound out, but has since started raining again HEAVILY this time though!!!! And looking on the met offices' web site, it's going to be a whole wet week round here!!!
  8. So even after it's been through a kiln drier, it could still have a 'hidden' high moisture content??
  9. I've got a Stihl moisture meter. Brought some Larch home for burning over weekend, but it just doesn't seem to want to burn. Yet the MM read the logs at anywhere between 8 and 16%?? Is Larch not a good wood to burn?
  10. Oh dear, never knew they'd be that bad. So, plan B. Which 'fully waterproof as possible' boots would you then recommend??? Here was me thinking wellies would be great for when you're chopping and changing between wet and dry work through the day....
  11. Looking to get some new saw boots for the new year, but this time I want the wellington boots this time. Which to got for / what do you recommend?? The Husky, Stihl or another make you've discovered that are as good as...??? Would like them to have a warm lining in them too though.
  12. I'd have another .22 over a .17HMR. (Lost the land / farm I shot over as it was sold onto bunny huggers). .17HMR is over priced for what you get me thinks.
  13. Ours doesn't stall..... And I was only repeating what have been told....
  14. Brother's farm had one on demo, but his boss wouldn't buy it due to being more than an equivalent sized John Deere. Yet they're a contracting farm so the work they get would have paid for it...
  15. A Fendt!!?? You got money to burn??
  16. Volvo EC-25 ours is. Only have a hydraulic 2 way ram for the thumb on the auxiliary to pick up / hold logs going onto the processor, seems to work that quite quickly..... You maybe able to increase the flow on your 3rd service by some hidden away valve / knob on the machine.... I used to deliver plant hire equipment, and have been told this by several plant fitters. Different attachments - different flow rates etc, so maybe yours could be turned down somewhere??
  17. In one of our fields, we have quite a large 'main' kind of ditch that runs through it. It now CANNOT cope with the extra surface run off from a new housing estate that decided to 'add in' a pipe to it from their capture tanks further up! We'll be expecting an answer of 'so what' when we inform them of the new problem...
  18. Just be careful then. See if you can put a 'restrictor' valve in for the cutting stroke, but maybe not the return stroke? To operate the cutting stroke, is it on a lever or a 'all or nothing' kind of button?? Just asking this, as on our machine, it's a lever which kind of gives you a secondary back up, so if you haven't slowed the blade down on the knob, you can back off with the lever if you notice the blade starting to bite / stick....
  19. Which years was it?? Getting lost on which day of the week it is these days.....
  20. But their prices didn't get smaller though.....
  21. Patience....... How many times has January and February been colder than November and December?
  22. You're saying when it cuts, it's 'pulled' down by a spring to cut?? Could it be that it's not being 'controlled' when cutting - you can't slow it / back it off if it starts to stick? We have a Ryetec processor where the operator controls the speed of the cutting blade on the cutting stroke via a variable valve, but the return is spring loaded / pulled back.
  23. You don't need to go down the whole drain / flush / replace filters etc to then run on white. Got dipped years ago when delivering manure around Newcastle and the machine the then VOSA used, could distinguish between how much red and white was / is in the tank. And has no one mentioned if you need an O licence, don't you need your DCPC too etc??
