  1. This is a video of my processor being used as a splitter. I really do like the versatility and simplicity of the dalen, ideal for if your someone like myself who have a mix of cord and arbwaste to process, this just eats up both with imo good output! Hopefully the link below will work.
  2. Can't believe we're nearly in bloody November, not really been cold but near enough cleared out 1 barn full of logs, just hoping for a harsh few months and weeks around Xmas time hopefully with snow as love the snow, should also help boost sales! Coz he have got a lot of stock needing to get inside and dry for this winter and next
  3. I like the idea of the screw splitter and grapple being all in one, only thing is if you wanted to use the grapple on its own can the screw cone be taken off otherwise it will be in the way for picking up big ish logs
  4. I wonder how much this per bioheat sell each year, they seem from they're website quite a organised company, and as the title refers to they're cheap, maybe too cheap....... but as I always say live and let live, they must make money so maybe they're very efficient in processing hence low production cost hence low selling price.
  5. Nearly done the row of arb waste logs I had to do, would have finished it by now but been busy with other work, but in total only took about 10 days of work
  6. Surely the farm your on has tress that need cutting down or have fallen down that can be used for firewood, that's how we started, also I dare say some of your fruit trees die, always cut them up aswell, fruit wood makes nice firewood especially cherry imo
  7. I also had that idea in mind but down want to be getting a low loafing trailer just for this, and you couldn't use any other trailer apart from maybe a grab trailer that could lift the processor on and off and I suppose also load the processor ( if you reconnect the hydraulics after unhitching trailer

  9. We've been steadily busy, shame about the weather when I woke up this morning !!
  10. I think with logs you will always handle then multiple times, is really unavoidable, just down to cutting down on processing time more than amount of handling imo
  11. I asume you mean the log splitter?! Shows how much quicker a processor is, but the splitter is vital for splitting bigger rings, and can still do a good 1-2 cube an hour on the splitter
  12. Where abouts are you, I'm based in hertfordshire, the log business isn't mine it's my dad's, but I'm starting up my own where I will buy from him and sell on, being 19 can't get insured on a bloody truck unless I want to pay around 7k may have to go delivering in my tractor and trailer which has a crane but even then you need a licence etc if it's not for personal use I believe for the crane. I will have to have a read up on it all, can be very confusing.......
  13. Is that on your new taj fun 480! What caused the failure??
  14. 40 cube a week is good going for early October, well done nate, what volume do u hope to sell a week when it's gets busy and cold?
  15. You had sycamore off of me???? And don't know about you guys but talking of sycamore I'm not a massive fan of bring it, oak, Ash, cherry, silver birch, hawthorn, beech, etc I find burns a lot better
  16. Hopefully the link above works, I know it's been a long time coming and some of you wanted to see my prpcesspr so here's a a vid of my Dalen 2054 doing what it does best haha, if the link didn't work search " DALEN 2054 firewood processor, Hertfordshire, England" on YouTube and it should come up! Be good to see some vids (or pics) of you guys and your machines, I find it good to see different people setups and toys!
  17. Well that's the current problem gdh, the tractor it's on is my international 674 which is 60hp, we have 2 other tractors, another 674 and a 80hp zetor (which currently the pro and hydraulics do not work on it). The other option I thought was if say farmers or current firewood suppliers wanted it they may already have a tractor so I would simply deliver processor on the back of a transit. It's all if and buts at the moment! Other question is do you think there would be much call for it and what's the best for of advertisement?
  18. I was wondering if some of you could give some advice. As I've mostly processed all of the wood we need for this winter and a lot for next I won't have much work for my dalen processor. I was just wondering if anyone on here has a pto processor and hires it out, and if so how? As it needs a tractor do you simply drive it hooked up to site? Problem I was thinking is that 1 time getting there, 2: it don't seem very safe especially as it's quite wide, and a lot of strain holding it up for a long journey. Only other idea I had was deliver processor with a truck but then relying on customer to have a tractor and facilities to unload the machine. Sorry I've waffled on a bit but any advice would be grand! Cheers.
  19. Took out 9 bulk bags if firewood this morning, How has your selling been going??
  20. Is that for yourself I take it?? If so I was just wondering on average how long does it normally take you or any one else on here to process a timber lorry load of wood (I assume you use a processor?)
  21. Nice big pile of cordwood there!, bet there will be few on here that would like a bit of that, at the right price off course haha. And yh there's some ugly bits I have to deal with but it looks worse than it is, just were it's all been tipped out loose, shouldn't take me too long if 8 get stuck in chainsawing and using the processor as just a splitter.
  22. Sorry last pic was me doing a bit of chain harrowing
